The bible is basically black and white with the occasional metaphor. If there is something in there that doesn't add up, why make a rationalization for God? Isn't it God's word and not Your word.

Because we're human, and WE want to understand too.
And it's not always rationalizations. Many of those who don't believe it simply see it that way.
There is no other book that a person would take a few sentences from and try to insist that there's something horrible about the whole book because of it. And if they do, they're called ignorant by everyone else. Why do people think they can do that with the Bible? It ONLY works together as a whole!

try to make sense out of something before abandoning an idea?
well.. the thing about the bible is it is just words. words written by people.. so naturally there would be many different views. some people just dont see the bible as in black and white.
and honestly some stuff in the bible isnt in black and white, it takes some real thought to understand what the point is. and its there that people find different meanings.
and since god isnt here to say what is and what isnt.. people are left to make conclusions themselves.

What is uncomfortable in the Bible? All I see is a sacred text by God that is full of wisdom beyond any man.

When I explained quite thoroughly to someone why Leviticus doesn't ACTUALLY condemn loving monogamous same-sex relationships, someone responded by saying "it says what it says, don't twist it! It couldn't be clearer!"
And yet.....
Whenever they find something "uncomfortable" for them, as you put it, they twist and twist and twist.

Love is the answer. Atleast christians have love in their hearts.
Am a devout christian and its great to see christians spend so much money for poor around the world and spread love and peace
muslims spread violence and hatred
muslims are 100% occupied with promoting islam through propaganda and violance. They are also occupied with trying to keep muslims under full control because lots are secretly leaving islam
Christians and Catholics are more concerned about promoting the love of jesus through unselfishly helping millions of poor, sick and oppressed people all over the globe. As a result more and more people experience the love of jesus christ through the humanity of Catholics and christians
No matter what anyone says i will always have a great love and respect for anyone who promotes love and helps those who suffer.....
