Some get offended when i tell them that it is not us who do the uttering but it is the spirit of God, if someone asked you to speak in tongues, do you believe that you can do it right at that moment, I speak in tongues but i dont believe in tongues on command.
In Tonex CD, he TELLS every one to go into their prayer language (Tongues), Tongues is not just somthing that we can utter. it is the Holy Spirit who speaks and not us so we cannot make ourselves speak. I do believe that when you get caught up so much in the spirit that it can take over and rivers of water will spring from your mouth, but if i was just walking in the mall and someone stopped me and told me to speak in tongues, i would tell them that " I wont rush God" when ever he wants me to speak, then i will.
I love speaking in tongues, it gives strength and helps your relationship with your savior.

Ok, i don't think im getting anywhere here.
What im saying is, i know many believe in speaking in tongues but do you believe in speaking in tongues WHEN SOMEONE JUST WANTS YOU TO, not even letting the holy spirit take over but you speak on your own.

I've never spoke in tongues yet so I haven't got to that point yet but I don't believe it's an on demand happening. People shouldn't ask those things either because we aren't to test God. I was glad to read your testimony on talking in tongues because I'm not real familiar with it except for what I read.

I agree with you totally.
To speak in tongues if asked by someone, not only would I feel awful and not do it, but that's bordering on sinning I think, That's just the way I feel about that.
But I know that The Holy Spirit lets me talk in tongues anytime I like. - I am Free! - For many different reasons and sometimes just for someone somewhere, as I get a burden to pray in the Spirit and that is different, in the way that there are different types of pray and different depths.
From Worship, petitions to intercession, The Holy Spirit helps us in All things!!!
Bless God and God bless you too GhNF!
Amen

in a word..no.
I have witnessed ppl speaking in tongues..it can happen very randomely and if ur not used to it can scare you.
When ppl have spoken in tongues thier speech was that of someone in complete rapture...
and i have also witnessed what i call..false tongues.
I went to a church where this older lady did alot of " tongue" speaking.. odd thing is..whenever she would start the pastor would tell her to hold what she had to say! Thats like telling God to shut up!
Also when she did finally speak it sounded too teacher like ( she used ot be one) and rehearsed. After a while...i noticed the speech was very similar everytime and could even mouth the " words" myself eventually.
I had a very hard time beleiving that what she spoke and what the pastor interpreted were from God.
for the most part though...they were pretty nice ppl...i just had a feeling things werent always what they seemed in that aspect.

I believe it!! yes.....
I have always wanted such a gift, but God did not give it to me.
**No... I do not believe we should be speaking in tongues to prove to people we can. This gift, speaking in tongues, ought not be done for that purpose. There are two ways about it.
One: It is between a man and God to speak in tongues.
two: for the building of the church. This manner, requires an interpreter. Otherwise, it is done for self-gratification and is not recommended by the Scriptures.
It is written this way:
1 Corinthians 14:5-6
5I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Your sister,
Ginger

We should be in constant prayer so to pray in tongues at any moment is very possible. To speak in tongues on the other hand is to give a word to someone and cannot be done on command but must come from The Father. If it is a word for someone else you need to have someone to interpret it but if it is for your edification then another person is not needed.

God maximum surely grants a individual the present of speaking in tongues to enable him/her to communicate with a individual who speaks yet another language. The Holy Spirit is sovereign in the dispersion of the religious presents (a million Corinthians 12:11). merely think of how a lot greater efficient missionaries might desire to be in the event that they didn’t might desire to pass to language college, and have been right now able to communicate to human beings of their very own language. even although, God would not look doing this. Tongues would not look to happen at present in the style it did in the hot testomony notwithstanding it may be immensely functional. maximum folk of believers who declare to prepare the present of speaking in tongues do no longer gain this in settlement with the Scriptures. those data deliver approximately the tip that the present of tongues has ceased, or is a minimum of a rarity in God's plan for the church at present.

NO,WE SERVE A ORDERLY GOD AND NOT A GOD OF CONFUSION.IT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVING A MESSAGE IN A PERSON TO THE CHURCH OR GIVING A MESSAGE TO SOME ONE,THE PERSON GIVING THE MESSAGE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE SAID,THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES NOT COME JUST TO ANY ONE.PEOPLE ARE BEING DECEIVED ABOUT
SPEAKING IN TOUNGES,IT IS NOT ABOUT MAKING UP WORDS OR MAKING NOISE, THATS NOT TALKING IN

Speaking in tongues is utterly useless unless there is an interpreter as the bible says. Otherwise, your just a cymbal making noise.
Most people don't like it when I point out the other requirement of that same gift, but oh, well.
