If there was no reason to believe in Adam and Eve, or other creationist theories then why would they have lasted so long?
Darwin has alot of scientific evidence, but to say that every diverse living thing came from something along the lines of the big bang makes the creation story seem credible. Without sounding like the cocky boy who sits at the back of the class you have to ask where whatever caused the first single-cell organisms to come from came from.
Basically, at some point something HAD to come from nothing which according to most of the expanded and updated Darwin based theories is impossible.
Enter God: stage right
They may not have been called Adam and Eve, and i believe that evolution does happen, but the beginning had to come from something bigger than an amoeba and to me the only half decent explanation is a Deity of some form

Darwin prophesized a theroy. Scientists ever since have devising experiments to prove him wrong. There are gaps in the theroy but no scientists has yet to publish a peer reveiwed article disproving Darwin and assigning evolution to the dustbin of scientific history. Adam and Eve just a story. In 2000 years the Da vincy code could be the text as signifigent as the bible.

Darwin!
Because Adam & Eve had 2 sons - Cain and Abel. According to the Bible "Cain slew Abel and went to dwell in the 'Land of Nod' with the people who lived there.
If we are to take the Adam & Eve story literally:
Adam & Eve had 2 sons so, incest aside how would the human race continue (especially when the the 'son factor' reduced to 1?
Where did the people in the Land of Nod come from?
More likely, the scriptures have described Adam & Eve not as the first two people on Earth but, as the first two people of the Jewish Faith (which, Jehovah - being a Jewish God - 'created' in his own image)
It's all down to interpretation - which probably accounts for all the war, bloodshed & hypocrasy which infests all religions!

Both. Adam and Eve were not the only humans on Earth. Why? Because their offspring went out and got married to people ''outside the family''.
Plus the theory of Darwin talks of the missing link - the creature in between the animal and the true human ancestors. And it is missing.
This does not in any way change the fact that the human embryo in a way follows the stages of evolution in its development - first resembling a fish, then an animal (a mammal), then becomes a human being.

Darwin; he actually existed.
Reply to a message above; if Eve is the mother of all living then where did Cain's wife come from?

Darwin was a bit of a colonialist, did you notice?
Romans 1 says that atheism begins when people suppress truth by means of injustice. This means favouritism. Any attempt to align yourself with any particular cause, especially one that people are born into, is a sure sign of a slide in atheism. It is a mythology though. 1 Timothy 1:4 aligns myth and endless genealogy.
Why would you believe a person in the first place? The Bible says not to trust anybody. Besides that, in a mythology like democracy, 2 Timothy 4:3,4 says that there would be "many teachers." There must be others besides Darwin who stand alongside him in a working mythology. Maybe a make-up artist, an interiors advisor, a landscape painter etc. This is a lifestyle choice. This is how belief works for a lot of people. Belief in New Testament Greek carries with it the idea of tranquilising and compliance so as to induce a yielding attitude. This is how hypnosis works, and it's terrible. I hate it. Hypnosis is used by cults to enforce mythology, according to me. You can get its effects from verbal abuse or the fixation technique, or a whole heap of philosophy, which seems to be what the world lives on. According to Nietzsche, this would particularly render people inept on subjects of growth and procreation. I'd like to know what kind of "philosophy" Darwin represents. He was a person, you know, not a set of ideas.
I think the Christian alternative would be to align belief with life results for the believer that have brought relief due to principles such as praying for those who persecute you.

Believe yourself.
Do you think you are just the product of this world? Nothing more than an evolved ape? Is that how you got to the point of questioning these things? Is that how you developed consciousness?
You don't need to look to outside influence to answer these questions. You only need to look inside yourself..and make your own conclusions. Ultimately, neither of these ideas can ever be fully 100% proven.
Evolution happens...but the question is not if evolution exists. It's did Human beings, what we are today, evolve from apes or other lesser creatures. Which nobody has proof of..end of story. Of course...nobody has proof of god...at least not in the eyes of a skeptic. A believer sees proof ever single day.
