Recently I realized that I just don't believe in God anymore, and I feel good about it! I wish there was a way that I could connect with others that feel the same way.

You can always hang out at the Usenet group alt.atheism if you want to talk with other atheists--they might have some sort of chat going too, who knows?

If you don't know how to access Usenet, you can go through Google Groups. My source is a link there, so go check it out. :)

Young lady, the only reason why many people stray away from God is because of people.
We judge God because of the churches or the "Saved" but how do they know that they are truly saved? Who are they to to tell you what is right or wrong because only God Himself can answer that.
I have been a missionary for a while and it breaks my heart to see why "religious" people condem others for they do not know themselves. In God's name I have helped little children who were a target for child prostitution and now they are safe, because of God. I am only 26 and I have been shown what I must do only because I never listened to anyone, I seeked Him out myself.
Churches are a prime target for burning out people, pushing them to the limit for NO reason at all.

At the end of the day, the choice is yours.

Dont worry too much, for He is with you always...

Yes, I still believe in God.
God is all I ever wanted, all I'll ever need, all in all amazing.

You did not explain how you came to feel this way, but I hope you find your way back into the hands of the God who loves you very much and will give you more than just a 'connection' with other people, but a new life....*****

Why does that make you feel good? Does it feel like you've been freed of some sort of impending doom due to a failure to adhere to an impossible moral code? Because that's sort of how I felt when I stopped believing in the Bible... it was hard to rid myself of what I was indoctrinated with when I was young... But I still believe there's a god, he/she/it/whatever just probably isn't an arrogant, condescending deity like the one in the Bible is portrayed at times...

Paradoxically, I don't really believe in the existence of God, yet I also believe that if he does exist he would have to be more benevolent than theists believe him to be.

Just look at that first answer. If God condemns people to eternal hell just because they don't believe in him or worship him, then God is too incompetent and sadistic to be worthy of worship.

Ultimately, God is irrelevant. Logic and empathy are the basis of morality, not the mythology of our simian ancestors.

How do u define god? I know their meaning to existence, I have seen it. I have never thought of god as an old man in the sky. DMT is a substance that can help you see beyond the physical world. DMT can allow our brains to perceive dark matter or parallel universes, realms of existence inhabited by conscious entities. There is more out there than are brains can come close to sensing/

There's lots of ways you can connect with others about it. Try a Unitarian Universalist church, they have congregations of all backgrounds and beliefs. Also I realized I didnt believe in the xtian god when i was in 7th grade, that was about 11 years ago now.

I believe in God; I do not believe in organized religion, however...I think everyone should develop their own belief system through careful thinking and evaluation- God or no God.
