After you become saved by accepting Jesus as your one and only savior, there is a passage in the Bible, book of John Chapter 13 Vs 34/35
I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another, Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.

All that God looks for is obedience and faith (trust) in a person and the rest will fall into place. If you read the whole Bible you'll see that being obedient is very important. May God bless you that you want to serve him. Serving him is very easy but there will be trials and tribulations and you should pass them because the reward in the end is greater than anything.

Pray and let Him know that you want to serve him. Then ask Him to guide you into those areas that you can do that (and then, of course, follow through whenever you have reason to believe you're being guided by God).
I think that's a good way to make God smile! :-)

Fulfill your purpose in life...
Our purpose for existence is to love our creator, God, and glorify God (1 Cor. 10:31) in all of our actions and beliefs. God willed that we exist in His image so that He might reveal Himself to us through His perfect love and righteousness. By “in His image,” I mean, we have personalities and power, we can embrace wisdom and knowledge, we recognize justice, and we can love. Most importantly, we can understand to some extent the nature of God.

In John Chapter 13 Jesus gives us a living example of servanthood - and commands that we be servants to others.
Then he says in John 15:
John 15:7-17 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it.
My Father's glory is shown by your bearing much fruit; and in this way you become my disciples.
I love you just as the Father loves me; remain in my love.
If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you.
The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them.
And you are my friends if you do what I command you.
I do not call you servants any longer, because servants do not know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because I have told you everything I heard from my Father.
You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures. And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name.
This, then, is what I command you: love one another.
Peace.
