Sometimes I think they are far superior to us. They understand how things work. They understand death. They don't stress about unnecessary things. They take the time to bask in the sun. They seem a lot more happy then us in general.

How can you really compare different species though?

Ghost: that's actually called "Speciesism"

Michael Kelly: you have a lot to learn about dolphins. Of course they haven't built computers. Their bodies aren't built like ours. They don't have fingers.

BUT, they do go out of their way, risking their lives, to rescue their young. They have sex for fun as well as procreation. They have lifelong friendships. They have extremely complex social lives. Read up on it. I'm not sure where you got your info, but it's really off.

Who knows about spirtually since it is something unmeasurable but intellectually there is no comparison.
If we look at the most intelligent, the killer whale or Dolphin they essentially swim the oceans, eat, procreate, communicate like a dog or cat but that's about it. They have complex brains and with sonar they can probably see clearly in the dark depths of the oceans as clearly as we see mountians, valleys and cities from the air, On the other hand they have never invented a computer, a car or gone to the moon and written books so they are not at all equal to us in that respect. Based on the fact they eat, swim, procreate and do their business, I doubt they are far superior to us at all. If they cannot ivent and make a civilization it is doubtful they can fathom superior entities not of this world.

According to the bible, humans are the only animals to have a soul or spirit. In line with that thinking, yes, we are.

However, according to the faiths of many indiginous tribes and people, humans recieved many gifts (sight, loyalty, hunting ability, etc.) from animal spirits. In this light, no, we aren't.

Honestly, every creature can only live the life that they have. Good, bad, or indifferent, we're all equals on the same playing field.

no, of course they're not "superior spiritually." they don't possess intelligence enough to believe in a deity. all they can do is eat, sleep, and procreate. we, however, can choose a god and believe in him/her. i think what you want to know is, is the relative simplicity lived by other animals superior to the complex lives humans live. given that none of us have lived as a boar, giraffe, goldfish, etc (at least not that we can remember, and certainly not in this lifetime), this latter question is really an unanswerable one

I totally agree with you! I also think that animals have a 6th sense and I much higher understanding of nature. Spiritually humans are way behind.
Great question by the way!

Many species have their high points. But overall we are superior and the dominate species of our planet.
We are set apart from animals mainly by the need for purpose, and a cognizance of God (or a lack of a God).

They also don't destroy their resources, or kill for fun, form hate groups against their own kind, try to control each other. They are far Superior than us. Humans are more comparable to bacteria or a parasite, Spreading rapidly, sucking its host dry and leaving a useless and destructive by product.

No! We are superior than animals...

why? because when God created us, He created us by His image and likeness as what the Bible clearlys says in Gen 1:26 KJV

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." - Gen 1:26 KJV

Hmm ... I've never really discussed spirituality with another species. But if cats are representative then probably yes.

We think too much.

Namaste.

No animal ever flew a plane into a building, or dropped an atomic bomb on an entire city.
Spiritually superior?
