If God wanted to forgive us for our sin, why couldn't he just forgive us? Why the morbid spectacle? Is God a drama queen?

I know. It's like, if you stole my car, but I love you so much that I do the jail time for you. But then why don't I just not press charges.

Look at how many times, God changed the world and it turned out bad again. First Adam & Eve ate the forbidden fruit so they were banned from The Garden of Eden. God destroyed the earth by water. HE destroyed the earth because of all the sins that were being committed: fornication, sins against thy neighbor, rich treating the poor as if they were nothing. HE saved Noah & his family & two of each animal, this is so there could be a new beginning. It rained for 40 days & 40 nights & during this time there should be no sin (sexual activity) for the animals or the humans.
Of all the times, HE showed what he could do, destroy the world & then recreate it, sin didn't die, it just kept getting worse, so what was GOD to do? 'For God so loved the world that HE gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believith in HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life.'
That is why Jesus died on the cross, he died for our sins so we could have everlasting life.
SO NO GOD IS DEFINITELY NOT A DRAMA QUEEN!

To add to what Bert said, God is holy and just, and nowadays, we have a very hard time understanding that. We think that we are not responsible or we do not want to take responsibility for what we do and that there should be no consequences for our actions. We want to live as we please.

Should Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson et. al. live life any way they please and go to heaven when they die?

The trouble we have is that God is perfect and it is required that we be perfect as well to be treated as His children. Obviously, we are not and cannot be perfect. In fact, there is no one who can live up to his or her own standards and state that they lived a blameless life, even by their own conscience, unless they do not have a conscience.

God's justice demands that someone pay for our sins. Either we will pay for our sins or Jesus will. And the only way we can be perfect is to have the perfection of another attributed to us. That other is Jesus.

When Adam, the first man, turned away from God he took the whole human race with him. We were banished from God's presence, and this was a just sentence. After Adam, all men were born outside of grace. Something had to happen to return us to the grace of God. Since men do not have the power to overcome God's justice by themselves, what was needed to restore us to grace was an act of God. Christ's death was this act. Christ was God, and by sacrificing himself for us he overcame the sentence that had been imposed on us. He opened the door that had been slammed shut by Adam. The most powerful force in the universe is love, and in offering himself as a sacrifice for our sin Christ performed the ultimate act of love. For there is no love greater than that a man should lay down his life for his friends. It is important to realize that Christ voluntarily chose to die for us; he could easily have avoided the cross. But he knew that if he did not sacrifice himself for our sins we would not be able to receive the mercy and forgiveness of God that we so desperately need. It is love that saved us, the love of Christ compensating for the hatred that we have shown toward God and each other ever since Adam fell. The only thing that can overcome hate is love, and to overcome all of the hatred of man it took a divine love, a love that gave all, even a tortuous death, in order to blot out the sins of man that cry out for God's vengeance. And this is why Jesus died for us, that by his love we may return to God and live with Him again in paradise.

Good question! Very unlogic yet human exist to use logic. Maybe God has no son anyway , maybe it is people who says that God has son.
Bibble say so...... sure....bibble was written by people, it was not God who wrote bibble,......back to logic .....
God has no son, it was people who wrote that God has son, and so many people nowadays believe it does not mean it is true ....right ??
So God is not a drama queen , God never say about having son.
Jesus was killed? Again we believe Jesus died one day, he is not alive now, for sure.
We are forgiven by believing Jesus as God? Big Question mark tho, sounds too easy . But ........who knows??
So, I think your question is a good question but it will get lots of different answers, some with logic some without;
When it is without, they will say that their answer it with faith. True faith or false? Some will say it is true and some will say it's b.s.
You should ask yourself, you should think! Intelect is the only source that make human different than animals.

God is a Holy God therefore He is just. Sin has a penalty. That penalty is eternal death. It's like you committed a crime and cannot pay the fine. He knew Jesus having no sin would be able to pay for your sin and death could not hold Him because He's sinless. All you have to do is repent of your sin, turn from it,and accept His gift of eternal life.God bless!!

So if a person who commits a serious crime, like taking someone's virginity without permission (rape), killing some inocent people or something and doesn't think he will be punished for it, (so he does it again later after apologizing) says he's sorry, everyone should just say, oh... that's o.k. don't worry about it... your forgiven????
No... G-d is just. He needs to have justice served for all of mankind's crimes. (which are all serious, because they cause deep harm and separate us from our righteous creator) The wounds of sin can only be healed by Yeshua's love and sacrifice for us, if we will only repent and turn to Him.

Everything in life has a price of some kind.

For the redemption of ALL mankind's sin (past, present, & future) a perfect, pure, innocent, and blameless price had to be paid.

Jesus Christ, the ONLY begotten son of God Almighty was and is the ONLY one who met the price for mankind.

it was our debt( read Adam and Eve, we sinned), and God sent his son down to clear it for us. He cannot bear for us to suffer. and it is only possible to clear that debt with a sacrifice.

That sacrifice was none other that Jesus Christ, his only son. His love for us was so deep that he give his Son to take back our punishment.

Understood? it is just THAT simple.

If you don't understand, it simply means you seriously lack Faith and were using Logic!

Religion calls for faith to be understood, without it you will be reading a book, as if it was written by a lunatic. Trust me, believe, and you will understand!

God Bless You!
