Depends... but it wont be community service. Judge'll either make you report it to insurance and you or your parents will pay the fine, or he'll let you go to traffic school.

Generally, for 1st and 2nd minor traffic offenses, since you're a juvenile, the judge will send you to traffic school. First time for 4 hours, second time for 8 hours.

Again, it depends on when and how far over the limit you were speeding, if you have ANY priors (criminal or traffic), how you act and appear in court, and so on.

I got busted on a motorcycle when I was 16 doing 156 in a 65, only a week after I got my license and my bike. The judge sent me to the 8 hour traffic court, and that was more than double the limit and my first offense.

BUT, second time I got 86 in a 65 and I had to pay it and report it because of the severity of the first one...

I wouldn't worry, you'll get traffic court for a first or second offense 90% of the time.

Try to find out. In Calgary, Alberta you can do "Fine option" which means you go serve meals at the shelter down town or pick up garbage on the streets etc. Im sure most major cities would allow that option. Although, where I live now, a speeding ticket when you are under 18 you can lose your license, so don't feel bad if you have to pay the fine but can still drive!

Depends where you live. Some communities offer some pretty creative ways to avoid paying monetary fines. One court I heard about assigned traffic offenders to accident clean up crews. Washing the blood off the street and finding the occasionally overlooked body part was a pretty sobering experience for a lot of them.

More than likely if you cannot pay the fine, you could have your license revoked for a period of time (usually 6 months) along with community service. In the state I live in, South Carolina, the judge gives you a deadline to pay the fine. If you cannot pay the fine, then the judge revokes your license and gives time in jail. The time in jail usually is thirty days with it being reduced for good behavior. If you knew you didn't have money to pay the fine, why were you speeding?

yes, but your insurance rates will go up if you keep getting speeding tickets..i had to get "high risk" for a few years and it sure put a crimp in my pocket book...try to go to traffic school as this goes good on your record as you are cooperative..it only cost my wife $ 40.00 and she had the ticket removed as this was her one and only ticket on her clean record...our state has a law that lets you go to a magistrate and plead your case and then the magistrate can expunge your ticket (make it go away) if this is your first ticket with a perfect record..you have one time only to make good with this..how long have you been driving? and it this your first offense? talk to someone who knows your local laws and your rights ..good luck..she went to the school at the local college..learned something and got the ticket so she did not have to pay and it was the same as not guilty..good luck

Well, depending on which state your in, things vary. One thing you could do is take a driving course that they should offer you at the court. Also, if you absolutely have to, you can fight it. Most cops don't remember pulling you over. So, think up a convincing argument, and practice it. I myself have had three speeding tickets and never paid one, but i learned from my dad. He had about 7 and never paid any. I'm hoping to break his record. lol

Yes, but be careful as the Assistant DA's will try to give you the most they can. If this is your first it shouldn't be that difficult.
