I met a girl at a party for the first time, and got her number.

I'm going to ask her out. We are both in our twenties.

What's a good place other than a bar, coffee shop, or movies to go out as friends?

I was thinking going golfing. But it might be expensive for both of us.

What's something cheap we can do and which can get us to interact a lot? I'm not good with conversation

The movies!

Or another party, or a club, or something fun like a carnival or something! It's better to do something fun on the first date than something romantic. That's what I think.

Keep it simple, don't try too hard and don't overplan. Find something that's interesting but allows you to hold a conversation. A movie or a play is a bad idea because you can't talk to each other. The golf idea is good, except for the cost (and, by the way, YOU have to pay for the both of you at least for the first date or two). Art galleries or museums are a good idea because they're inexpensive and they provide a lot of things to talk about. Look in your local paper and see if there's an interesting festival or free outdoor concert or something. Whatever you end up doing, buy her a coffee or lunch too. Keep it reasonable but don't totally cheap out.

A trip to the Zoo is fun, or to a local park for a picnic.

How about Putt-Putt golf and dinner? That's a good thing to do. Have Fun :)
