Rev 13:17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Rev 13:18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.

Before the invention of figures by the Arabs, in the tenth century, letters of the alphabet were used for numbers. The Greeks in the time of Homer, or soon after, are thought by some to have assigned to their letters a numerical value corresponding to their order in the alphabet. If you are familiar with the Greek of the New Testament, an argument can be made that the 666 is an allusion to Emperor Nero. Just as easily an argument can be made that the 666 refers to a "Latin Power" or, the Roman Catholic Church, Julius Caeser Atheus, Luther, and others.

As you can see from the above, there is no consensus on the interpretation. The antichrist is figurative, not a literal person, but a body of belief that denies Jesus is the Christ, the second person of the Triune God.

1Jn 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
1Jn 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

He will be a Jew like Jesus, He will begin to physically and literally fulfill all of the criteria for Messiahship (building the 3rd temple on the temple mount, from the lineage of David, making world peace, etc...) He will seem like the Messiah in just about every way, and most people will believe He is the Messiah and love him... but He will not be the true Messiah and will turn people away from G-d. After some time of peace, the false Messiah will cause much suffering and destruction for everyone... much more than what we have seen to this point...

:) I can see the thumbs-down already.
Charles Prince of Wales or Prince Charles of Wales. Either way his name adds up to 666 in both Hebrew and English (his native language) using the system which wa in place when John wrote Revelation.
In addition to that his 'coat of arms' AKA heraldic achievement has all of the symbology spoken of in scripture.
A book "Anti-Christ and a Cup of Tea" by Tim Cohen is an excellent resource for any serious student of the Bible.
So my answer is Charlie.
Be found looking up for our redemption draweth nigh.

The Bible is clear in the book of I John. Anyone who denies Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is filled with the spirit of anti-christ.

Who is the anti-Christ? Right now, I'd say the Christian right. They're about as far from Jesus' message of love and compassion for all man (meaning all people) as you can get. Hell, their shitlist is longer than the Bush admin's
