This is a question for your women family members to gather and talk about. How can strangers know - other than laws or religious text - YOU need your families input. Ask all your female family members. Maybe grandma has a tattoo no ones knows about. Or your Aunts...
Get a few pizzas and make a night of it and talk about this stuff - before strangers can.
Your family sets the moral tone and the moral values you have - right?
Also, respect self respect is important - why pierce or tat? You don't need attention of this kind, be happy being you.
Keep Dad from freaking out - please. (As a father please be kind to him.)
Oh, as Ozzy Osbourne said (well I forget exactly) but something like: if you want to be different - everyone has tattoos and piercings so your all the same. (Remember that episode in his show with Kelly and Jack?) It's true everyone gets tattooed and somehow everyone looks the same.
Talking so much I realize the answer to: "is it wrong ..." is NO it's not wrong, it may be but it would take years to know. That's called regret. You may not get a job, or boyfriend, or tired of it. Few can tell your future. Also - YES your body - everyone's body is a temple, but again that's why I suggest talking to your family.

Christian Positions
Leviticus 19:28 is often cited by Christians as a verse prohibiting tattoos. According to the King James Version of the Bible, the verse states, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD." While it may appear that the passage disallows any markings of the flesh, even applying to the modern-day use of tattoos, it is likely the passage refers specifically to the form of mourning discussed above (see Middle East section). Christians who believe that the religious doctrines of the Old Testament are superseded by the New Testament may still find explicit or implicit directives against tattooing in Christian scripture, in ecclesiastical law, or in church-originated social policy. Others who disapprove or approve of tattoos as a social phenomenon may cite other verses to make their point.
For example, Revelation 14:1, 17:5, and 19:16 are cited as passages in which names are written on foreheads and the thigh of Christ, respectively. In this case, however, it is possibly metaphorical as the language is prophetic.

I know the Bible says no to it I have read it before that is about the tattoos, but in the same breath I know alot of men who are Christians and have tattoos, I lost a grandson due to and accident, his dad put a tattoo on his arm of a picture of his son..It is beautiful too looks just like him. and he is a Christan as well. It has been a rough road for him but he now carries his son in his heart as well as on his arm for the world to see, the mom has a tattoo of Bob the Builder on the bottom of her leg it was his favorite cartoon. I have a Spiritual Mother who has her ears pierce, her ears both carry many earrings. I have mine also and am glad I have them, as far as anywhere else on the body I think not, at least for me..As for it to be a sin I am not one to judge, to be honest with you I have though of having one put on me (a tattoo) to stand for my grandson, but it is more just a thought doubt if it would ever happen, it would scare the you know what out of me...it was bad enough getting my ears done..
One more thing too. I am a true christian...

The Biblical principle states that you should not cut, burn or mutilate yourself in memory of the dead.
You are correct. Your body is a temple. God told Solomon to decorate his temple with paints, with precious stones, with metal and wood. Whether or not you decorate your own temple likewise is between you and God but it is definitely NOT wrong, as a general principle, to decorate your body with tattoos and piercings. Indeed, it is a Heavenly mandate to do so in honor of God.

No just don't go crazy with it. Ears yes, other things pierced can get a bit over done also there is a high rate of infection.
Tattoos are not easy to get rid of once you have them so think hard before you do it.
I have been thinking about getting a small butterfly on my ankle.

If you are born again christian, you have been bought with a price. Your body no longer belongs to you and it now belongs to God. Secondly the old testament striclty tells us not to mark or maim the body.

Yes, the Bible refers to our bodies being God's temple, meaning that if Christ is living in us, we should treat our bodies as his dwelling place and take care of them. Different people interpret that to mean different things. Some people completely disagree with tattooing and piercing, others support it. In the old testament it says outright that we shouldn't get tattoos and mark ourselves up because it defiles us. But you also have to remember that when Jesus came along in the new testament, all the old religious laws (and there were a boatload of them!) were done away with- except the 10 commandments. I personally take this to mean that tattoos and body piercings are acceptable, as long as they aren't offensive or sexual.

It is very wrong, according to the Bible. Your body is the temple of the Lord, not your's to mess with. Your body is God's because he bought it with the price of his blood. Please don't listen to the people who say ' It's your body, do what you want.' All jewelery and tattoos do is draw attention to yourself, and thats the last thing you want to do! Hope this helps, God bless!

yes, if you are a Christian your body is a temple of the holy spirit. and i believe there is a verse that talks about no tattoo's:
Lev. 19:28
'You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.
But, that's the old testament and the laws have changed.
