When you pray you deliberate positive energy that attracts good spirits to you. Those spirits can give you strength and comfort during dark times. This positive energy can keep bad spirits away too. Bad spirits can influence your life. The best way of praying is recognizing your mistakes in life, asking for forgiveness, being thankful, and asking what you want at the moment for you and/or for anyone you love and care. You can be straight forward in your prayer, be honest and talk as if an informal conversation. You can focus on God, Jesus, any other saints you believe, spirits, or just a light. You can pray for those who past away too. They feel your love coming from your prayer and are comforted wherever they are.

Pray!

Peace!

Prayer is the dedication of the mind and the soul towards God, re-dedication again and again at the start of each day, each hour, each moment.

Prayer is nothing in isolation; it can only mean anything in the context of a life lived, just as the written word can only mean anything in the context of a text read and acted upon or remembered.

But prayer for some cause in which we can reach no further is in itself an action taken. For example, if I `pray' for someone who I can and should help directly, but do not offer them any help myself, my `prayer' means nothing. However, if I pray for someone in some remote disaster of which I have heard, and in which I cannot help otherwise, that is still real prayer.

But are there situations in which my only action can be only prayer? In the case of a remote disaster, I can write to politicians for intervention; I can make financial donations in support; I can offer my skills in support. In praying for the sick, when it seems that only a miracle can save them and that I should pray for a miracle, I can still visit them.

When I pray for the well-being of a friend, I still must act directly to them as a friend, with the same concern that I put into my prayer, and without being pulled by my own convenience in the relationship. (I can pray also that I will be a good friend to them -- and yet I must also listen to their needs directly.)

And yet I cannot, in practice, do all these things, as there are so many opportunities that I cannot follow them all. However, my willingness to help in ways other than prayer must be there, for my offering to be truly prayerful.

Prayer is a way of communicating with God, asking for guidance, being able to make decisions. It is also a tool to say thank you to God for .....whatever. Another form of this could be "cosmic ordering". This is meant to be used in much the same way, but without a religious believe.

No use if you don't mean it.
If you do mean it it can help you in developing a relationship with God.
Once you come to really know God, then prayer is not necessary as you will communicate with God on a one to one basis and do not need the formality of prayer.

It's projecting a thought, desire, need or expression of thanks to the energy of Oneness that is within, " out there "...and around us.

What " good " is expressing to another that you know the words of desire, need, thanks, etc. ? Do others not respond to those expressed words ? Same with " prayer " to (God) the One. . . The " prayer " / conversation with (God) the One is same as conversation with another you might know in your life. Only difference is...the " strength " of " communicating " to a source that is more Truth, the seed of the soul, speaking to your own self in a sense as we are all of the One (God).

" Prayer " is belief and faith. Communicating with Pureness. What better source to go to ?

What is the " use " ? Again...what is the " use " of communicating to a person you might know in your life ? . . . Your child, spouse, friend, work associate, town mayor . . . (God) the One. Aren't expressed words freely expressed out there...no " motivation " except for expression of Love, desire, need, appreciation ?

" Prayers " are always answered. Answered in either what was specifically conveyed in that " prayer " or through the gift of what was to be experienced in relation of what was conveyed in that prayer . . . life lessons thus growth and awareness . . . There is precious " use " in that.

Prayer focuses your mind on the things that are truly important in life, God and your fellow man. God also wants to hear our prayers and answer them if they are faithful.

Daily prayer places your heart in alignment with God's heart.
This is much the same thing that happens with a husband and wife after years of sharing with each other.
In fact without this sharing the same thing also happens. They grow apart and do not know each other any longer.
Prayer is VERY important.

To realise and know the deeper parts of self, there is an implication here that doing is primary (using = doing) however at times the purpose of prayer for me is connection to the Divine, a place of beingness, a knowing that there is no difference between me and all that there is, a place to experience myself that way.

God wants a relationship with us. In order to have a relationship with anyone, there has to be communication, don't you think ??? And that is what prayer is, communication with our Creator, Who loves us more than we can ever imagine.
