microsoft word formats?

I just had my english homework sent over the email as a rich text document. I opened up the email and opened it with word and every thing is in like weird text like i cant even read it. I was wondering if theres any way i can decode that?

since it's saved in rtf, just open it in wordpad. that, by default, saves in rtf.

i agree; open it in wordpad which is rich text format, then select all and copy from wordpad into word if you need to format the text. i have bad luck with wordpad's parameters - good luck with your homework.
