Our lives are scared by our past decisions and when we are saved our guilt of those decisions is removed though the scars remain. Leave the tatto as part of the testimony to where He has brought you from.

They need to be able to accept the tattoo as part of the story of their life. Not to feel the need to get it erased just because of what could be a passing fancy. I'm not saying that religion changes are always so flippant but, it needs to be something that a lot of time (years) and thought have gone into, just like the tat. It would be better to be able to look upon it with the knowledge that it was once a big part of who you were but, now you've moved on.
If it really bothers them, removal is pricey and painful. Plus it doesn't always work. It might be easier to alter the art.

In 1 Peter 3:18-21, it is made clear that we are dead to our former sins, and are born anew in the death and resurrection of Christ. No pagan, or even a satanic tattoo for that matter, can deny our acceptance of God's grace in baptism, and His acceptance of us reborn by the Cross.
While it is right and proper to seek to remove such an offending mark in reparation, its existence is not stronger than God's forgiveness.

with all the inhumanities in this world, do you really believe God (by whatever name you use) cares if you have a tattoo? I would think "God" wouldn't care that you sought free expression of self when there are people killing and raping children, or suicide bombers using "his" name as a reason to blow up hundreds of innocent souls.....wake up and think for yourself, don't become a mindless drone to the dogma of religion. Besides, how do you know that that "Pagan" image or name is not another name of God that the HIERARCHY of the CHURCH wants man to forget? More blood has been shed in the name of God throughout history than for any other reason; if I was God I'd turn my back on man for the wrongs the have done in my name and continue to commit to this day. This may sound very "satanic", but I am in NO WAY associated in that sect of belief because it is a Christian concept.....my religion is far older and possibly the foundation of Christianity. Unfortunately, I will not reveal my faith as there are not many in the world that have faith in the Gods and Goddesses of my life. And I have no desire to be condemned by so-called virtuous christians that are no better than the witchhunters of the middle ages.

No once you are saved Jesus Christ that tattoo is no longer an issue. I could see why one would want to have it removed, but if they didn't it would be a starter to explain how their life has changed and how much Jesus did for them. Jesus forgave the sin of idolatry when he came into the person's heart.

As far as the East is from the West - that's how far God sends His memory of our sins when we accept Christ as our Savior.
The only thing that can "condemn you to Hell" is disbelief.

For those who said in order to be saved you must try to be a "good" person, I ask, like Jesus, "How good is good?" Matthew 19:17, 25, 26 And He said to him, 'Why Me do you call good? Not one is good except One -- God; but if you do will to enter into the life, keep the command[ment]s.'..... And His disciples having heard, were amazed exceedingly, saying, 'Who, then, is able to be saved?' And Jesus having earnestly beheld, said to them, 'With men this is IMPOSSIBLE, but with God all things are possible.' Repent of your sins, and accept Jesus Christ as your SAVIOR. You are now saved from eternal hell. If you truly repented, what happens next is you suddenly don't want to live for yourself any longer, but wish to do the will of God. This is making Jesus Christ your LORD, now doing what HE wants instead of what you want [even if its inconvenient for you]. The second naturally follows the first. Why Jesus said, with God all things are possible. Because we cannot make ourselves "good" enough for God. His Disciples knew no one could ever possibly keep all the commandments perfectly. Except Jesus Christ.

Outer things like tattoos do not matter to God ,if your heart is in the right place with Him. All God looks at ,is your heart, where nobody else has access to. Don't let nobody convince you otherwise. Ask God to forgive you and He will wipe your slate clean and you will assure yourself a place with Him in Heaven.
God bless you

the most important thing is spiritual renewal and rebirth in Christ through baptism and living the faith. When one accepts Christ, we discard our old self. Most important thing is to repent of past sins, and to believe in Christ and follow his commandments which is to Love God first and then love your neighbor. God bless.
