It's hard to transfer what Jesus taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.
Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?
And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it? That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!
He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?
I can't imagine Jesus being anything but disgusted by mid to late- term abortions, but the Bible is not specific on the subject. The issue of "when life begins" would have to be answered, first.
But as far as issues like trade unions and strong regulation of business, strong environmental regulations, animal rights & gun control, it's hard to say, exactly.

When thinking about Jesus Christ, one has to think outside of the boxes of traditional thinking. It was alway the way God intended BUT hard hearded men thought they were the ultimate in Creation because of their gender. Woman was made and equal heir with him.
God mentions twice in Scripture that He is No respectoer of Person. Leviticus 19:15, Acts 10: 34-35) He was correcting the errors of the additional 613 Laws that man made, trying to be holy through works alone! (Sanhedrin/Pharisees) Matthew 5,Matthew 19:19, John 13:34. God gave Adam one rule to follow in Genesis:3:6. After Noah there were 10 Exodus34:28. Jesus added ony one to the original 10 and that was to love one another! Jesus is a Gentle Traditionalist, that made new moves.

Probably not the first. The original Christians were socialists. Read Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-35

Since I, a mere man, cannot accurately nor even render myself the ability to comprehend fully God's wonder and majesty, I cannot presume to consider Him along the lines of liberal or conservative. I do know; however, that Jesus called anyone angry with his brother a murderer and thus would call abortionists and those that commit abortion murderers. He also said, "Whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." The liberals constantly attack morals and values and Christianity as 'close-minded' and discriminatory and say that God does not exist. Blasphemy Jesus would not tolerate.

Jesus Christ never once claimed to be in any affliation with any political group. He never claimed to be Liberal nor would he like to be called one plus He's beyond Liberals and Conservatives. He is God. The great I AM. The Truth and the Light.
Why can't you Libs face the facts?

Jesus as a Liberal is the construction of the Social Justice movement. All that Jesus is love is a figment of their imagination.
Jesus loves His own but hates hypocrisy and today’s Liberals are going to be in for a very rude awakening come judgment day.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:22-23 (KJV)

If you mean the definition below-
Liberal: Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or accepted attitudes, views, or dogmas.
Well, there have been many others who have taken such a stand before him, so he would not be the first. But, If you are talking about today's American use of the word, no.

Oh yes, he said to love EVERYONE. He without sin cast the first stone, meaning no one has the right to judge anyone else. He never said "DON'T DO THIS AND DON'T DO THAT", he was all about love, forgiveness, and charity.
I don't remember him saying a darn thing about abortion, which they have had since the beginning of time. He never addressed the issue. Didn't he know everything? He was concerned with your thoughts and heart not deeds.

Since Jesus Christ never had acts of sodomatic sex with men, didn't consume the pure flesh of innocent preborn children while they were still in the womb and was a CHRISTIAN, I think not.
The person who would get the dishonor of being the first liberal would be FDR and was severely crippled for being as such.
