I don't find the primordial soup theory very satisfying.

Why do people stand out in the animal kingdom so much, in a class all alone?
Gen 1:27 God created people in his image.

I agree. However, there are a lot of people that believe in God without adhering to Christianity. Some seem to equate Creator with Christian God which is wrong. The complexity of nature seems to point to some higher force yet there is nothing in the natural world which says Christianity is right.
Anyway, that's my answer as a non-Christian theist. I wonder what atheists think on this one.

Just because Nature is an amazing breathtaking complex force beyond understanding does not mean there is some "Creator" behind it. Why does everyone have to be so egotistical as to think that the most awesome workings of the universe can be understood by humans? Why not just enjoy and appreciate how lucky we are to be here and be alive while we can?

Now tell me if I'm wrong here.
The Moon first, then the Sun, then Earth...dino's and so on. All this things have earlier dates then your God was even fake printed about.
A lot people believe in facts not "stories"

Because I think it's more obvious to see that it's all by chance. If it's a creator, why isn't everything across the world the same? Why are the same species of animals or insects different on different islands?
It's all chance... and even more miraculous because of it.

Because the bird is pecking my eyes out.
Because the flower has thorns and stinks really bad.
You say that birds and flowers and trees (oh my) somehow proves there's a creator?
You wear a helmet too, don't you?

Sorry, it's just not obvious. God in that context is the god of ignorance - the god of the unknown and unknowable and in the cases you cite we really do know a lot more than you are willing to credit us. We, collectively, are just not that stupid and I can't make it any simpler than that.

For every pretty, artistic "Intelligent Design" object in the world, there's an equally ugly object...what are those... God on one of his "bad" days hopped up on whiskey?

It's only obvious to one completely ignorant of nature, and determined to stay so.
And even if it were evidence of a creator, it would not be evidence of your particular god, who does not exist.
