when i was younger, i was abused by my father, and started to pick at scabs and other things, because it seemed like it was the only thing i could control, and it seemed to be a way to get back at my dad... though it was only hurting me, i didnt understand that at that point b/c i was so young. this problem has contiinued with me as i have grown up. its a way that i take care of stress and so forth... im going to therapy for my self-mutilation, but is there any way to get rid of the scars from it????

If your acne is serious enough to cause scarring, then you should ideally see a dermatologist, as the most effective options are only available with a prescription. In any case, you probably need what's referred to as "combination therapy" to effectively treat it -- to include a wash/cleanser, a treatment lotion, and possibly a toner. Several over-the-counter kits are available: Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit, Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Therapy, and University Medical's acne kits. Select a kit that includes a comprehensive regimen to follow and go with that if you don't go to the doctor and see which one works best for you. You will have to give it two weeks to see if it's going to work really well, but you should ideally start seeing initial results within a few days.

i too have scar problems, and have tried soooo many creams. im still searching for one that REALLY works good. So far i have used mederma, which has helped but wasnt all that great, and i have also used scarzone, which works okay.
lemon juice helps lighten scars, but im not sure how good i have only tried it once.
and if all else fails, they will fade by themselves over time. In the meantime, if they are on your legs or arms which is visible to others, get a spray tan to help hide them or use a self tanner.

if ur scars are really bad, go to a doctor, and u may have to have surgery. If u dont u can buy many products that will get ris of the scars. Scars no more, and Mederma, are probobly. the best. U can get those and others at amazon.com for a very good price.

Exfoliate your skin every day, and use a good moisturize to help protect your skin.. I heard mederma and those other scar creams don't work--and you would do just as well using cocoa butter (which is cheap).. and I agree w/someone saying use self tanner--that works well to blend them.
I am sorry about your childhood but it sounds like you are on the way to recovery. I have skin issues, too...Dry skin and itching and I have scars, too...

I have severe acne and scar easily too. So I feel your pain. I found this website. They have a free recipe section to help get rid of scars. That one really works, but you don't see the results over night... you have to be patient. It worked on me, and my face was pretty bad.

oh dear!! you must have faced so many problems.. well i have scars too ... but just because i was too naughty when i was young... i dont know how far it will be useful for your scras ... but do try using them ...ok
