I'm not an atheist, nor am I a Christian. I grew up Christian and miserable. My new faith is full of joy and I am happier than I have ever been. I believe in Deity, but do not depend on deity. My life does not center around it, and my beliefs might change based on new information, not antiquated information. Being free to think for myself instead of following what an antique book, or the preacher of the day has to say.

I think that atheists can live just as happy a life as anyone of any religion as long as they truly believe what they say they do. Just think how horrible life would be if you were constantly doubting what you were "supposed" to believe instead of admitting what you truly believe to yourself and accepting it. I'd hate to be the first kind of person. I think that there would be more fear and anger in that kind of person.

Yes you can.
Religion seems to be a condition that people are subjected
to at an early age. Once it takes hold, dogma takes over.
No one that I know of or have read about has proved that
God exits. No one has proved he doesn't either.
You need to believe. You get that by the churche's early
conditioning of the young minds. No solid proof, just
repetitions of stories told centuries ago, edited to fit the
times.
We're still waiting for Pope John Paul who passed away
a couple of years ago to check in. He said he'd tell us if
he made it to heaven and set the example for the rest of
us. Haven't heard a word. He said he wouldn't send any
ambigious signs that would need to be interpeted by
a church official.
Oral Roberts, the televangelist, seems to have had a
serious disconnect from God these days.
He used to tell us that he talked to God every night.
He seemed to have THE hotline to God that no one
seemed to have.
It was only when he told the world that Oral Roberts Inc.
needed 5 millon $$ to stay solvent and that he had asked
God for help, that things started to unravel.
It seems he gave God a specific date as to when he needed the bucks. We all waited in anticipation. We were waiting
for definate proof that this man had the ultimate connection
to God. Surely, God was not about to forsake this man
whom has preached the words of God to millions.
God didn't come through.
An anonymous person donated the cash.
He did it because he didn't want the world to lose
faith.
One can interpet this as God working in misterios ways.
You can interpet this any way you want.
The Reverend Oral Roberts was told to cool it.
No more high profile pleas for cash.
What if God does'nt come through the next time???
True beleivers are going to be bummed!!!
Believe in yourself!!!
Appreciate the love you get from your family and friends.
It's up to you to give it back. Treat every one you know
with compassion and respect. Don't steal, lie or hurt
them. You don't need a God of any sort to tell you that.
Follow your conscience. It will tell you what's wrong and
what's right. If you are still in doubt, ask your parents or
someone you trust for guidence. You need to ask.
Good luck to you.

I lead a normal life, happy for what I have and do not harbor any fear or anger. Why shouldn't I?
I'm not in fear of going to hell. I don't lead a life of suffering or control HOPING to get into heaven. I do not follow any doctrine that tells me how to live my life. I do not pray to god hoping that he will answer my prayers.
Life is simple. There is/aren't a god(s). Period. Life is so much easier, happier and better without one.

Happy, maybe. Happiness is conditional, depending on our circumstances. Joy that The Lord gives? NO. This Joy promised to christians by Jesus in unconditional and does not depend on any circumstances. God bless

Sure they can lead a life that is as happy as a Christians. Being a good person does not really apply to a person's belief's in or non-belief in gods.

What do I as an Atheist have to be afraid of? That is a strange question. Also Atheist have families and friends who love them and who they love back. We are people who live our day to day lives much like anyone else. Try not to be so narrow minded.
