of them are teens in high school) I'm really getting the vibes from them and find myself pressed with issues that are trivial, and immature. It's upsetting because I feel like I have to wait for these kids to grow up which hinders my own personal growth. Why can't everyone just agree?

Its the catch-22 of the nucluear family thats causing you the problems. See in most families, espacially in the US, more importance is giving to the individuals lives, then to the family life as a whole. The fact is people as an individual are pretty darn trivial, without a big purpose outside of ourselves, thats just what were left with. Nothing more then are own personal concerns and worries, and because of this we become well quite shallow. The only thing that makes us deep is when we fight for something besides ourselves. When left with just ourselves we become quite fearful and neglectful of everything and everyone. If maybe they could see a bigger picture things would be quite different but that would force them to take a look at were they've failed and people have a bad tendency not to do that.....
