"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". This is the number one way to increase your faith. That, and prayer and praise. Fellowship with other believers. When you read the word, you see it proven true in your life, and that increases faith. Be consistent in all these things, and you will grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

know that faith and hope are two different things, and relate to God in that way. you may hope for something, and have faith that it will occur, and have faith that if it does not occur it is because God is taking care of you. for example, you may hope to get a new car, and have faith that God will let you get it, but at some point you may realize that you are not going to get it, so you give up hope, but not faith. meaning that you have faith that you didn't get it because it was in your best interest. maybe you would have crashed in that car? that's the difference between faith and hope. having it on your mind constantly helps to develop a close relationship with God. (and i just use a car as an example because it's a concrete object easily to visualize in the example). also, carry a small plastic cross in yopu pocket or purse, or shirt pocket so that throughoput the day you come across it and it helps to remind you to be what you preach.

Hi, thanks for asking!
I think the best way is through reading the Bible and praying about it. Don't just read it, but study it carefully, comparing translations and really seeing how it can apply to your life. Ask God to help you through His Spirit. I have to follow this advice myself.
Secondly, I suggest that you talk with Godly Christians. Hopefully you know some people who have been Christians longer than you have, who have experienced things in their life that they had to depend on God for. Just talking with them, getting them to share with you, can increase your own faith. You'll have to experience many tests in life for Christ's sake, and your testimony can help others grow.
As an example, I will offer you a testimony of my own. I became homeless while I was in high school. I lost mostly everything I owned and had to go from shelter to shelter for some months. However, as a result of this experience, I learned that although we may value material things in this life, they are not what counts. God is what counts, and to prove it, God brought me out of homelessness. In fact, I now attend a top public university, basically for free because of my scholarships. I attribute all of this success to God; I couldn't have done it without Him.
I hope that encourages you. You may want to start in your church in search of some people with testimonies to share. When you're feeling low, remember, God won't leave you, and if He brought one of His children out of their troubles, He loves you enough to do the same for you, if it is His will.
May God bless you.

Hearing the Word of God, by reading the Bible as you stated, listening to a godly preacher who preaches both the hope and warnings = the bittersweet message. Praying without ceasing (according to the Word of God). Praising God thru prayer and singing. Also, I like to meditate and be comforted by Christian music. I read Christian books that I discern with The Bible. And don't forget to Admire God's creation on a daily basis and then sing the song "I stand in Awe of You". God bless your heart's desire. In Christ

Faith comes by hearing... and hearing by the word of God. Spending time in the word is such a crucial part of our christian growth.. if we desire to know the Lord as a person then the best way to do so is through understanding His heart by reading the word in a prayerful manner.
We all desire to get closer to the Lord and He desires the same thing
Like any relationship, its a give and take. Of speaking and listening... of sharing...of opening up your heart and making room for the Lord to make His home there
Each morning should be a special time for you and the Lord t bond.. for Him to feed you of Himself as the daily manna.. as the morning dew...
Calling upon His name is an easy way to get close to the Lord.. in doing so.. You get the Person of Christ responding to you. Just take it a day at a time sister..
Lines in a song helped me..
Feeding by Reading the word
Drinking by prayer
We eat and drink to grow in the Lord
We breathe by calling upon His name
Enjoy each age and stage of growth by faith in Jesus

The Bible tells that faith comes from hearing the word of God. You need to hear preaching.

1st step is always wanting to believe in God. Growing up, i attended a catholic school, and said "i believe in God" to fit in. However, i didn't even have a good idea who God was/ what he did for us (i just thought he made everything). Since my parents started forcing me to church again, I was surprised at everyone's commitment to God. I dont really know how, but i went from extreme Athiest to wanting to believe in God. I can now say i believe in God, but i am not yet a great follower.

Prayer is the most important thing you can do. Ask God in Jesus' name to give you increased faith, I ask for more faith and love for Christ all the time! Prayer is vital for spiritual growth. God bless.

Each of us has a conscience that helps us to know right from wrong. As we strive to gain more truth and as we bring our lives into compliance with what our conscience says is true, we will be led to greater and greater light and faith.
The opposite is also true. As we ignore our conscience, we lose light and faith.

Love Him with all your heart and mind. Trust Him and ask for guidance in everything you do and plan to do. Show Him that you obey all His commands because He is your Father and that the way you live your daily life reflects that. Always talk to Him through prayers and ask Him to hold your hands all the time.
