I would not have to struggle with my conscience and decide which course of action I would take. I am a Veteran of WW2 therefore, on the wrong side of the chronological ledger. At 84 years of age, one sees good versus evil with consummate clarity. I would do whatever was necessary. I have lived in this Blessed country all my life, my parents emigrated to the USA in order to give me the opportunity of getting an education and living in Freedom. I owe America everything I have, including my life. If I had to fight in the streets against an enemy that wanted to destroy us, I would not hesitate one second in taking up arms and fight; if the enemy wanted to exchange the lives of children for mine, They could have my life. In short, there is nothing I would not do to fight evil. With all its' warts, America is still the greatest country in the world.

And how, exactly did attacking Iraq help to stop terrorism?
There were no terrorists in Iraq, Hussein would have had them killed as a threat to HIS power.
The terrorists have now moved from caves in Afghanistan to cities in Iraq.
They now have access to a modern (although somewhat damaged) technological society with complete infrastructure including telecommunications, transportation, and potential recruits in the thousands of orphans created by the war.
Do YOU feel safer now?
If you do you havnt really thought this out very well.
Buying into the "mission accomplished" flag waving as being an effective deterrent to terorism will ultimately be seen as living in a fools paradise.

Our military leaders have been talking a lot about this question. The problem is that we're really good at going after countries that misbehave. But terrorists present an unclear target. You rarely know who they are, where they are, or how to tell them apart from everyone else. The only way to be completely free from terrorism is to live under tyranny. Why would we overthrow Saddam Hussein only to create a government just like his?

Any thing I could....as far as attacking our streets, I would bet our street gangs would do some serious *** kicking; so far all these terrorist creeps have been doing cowardly deeds, against people that for the most part are unarmed and innocent, even our soldiers have to fight against a bunch of stupid rules or they are going to get in trouble here. There is no such thing as a fair fight when dealing with these insane bastards, so come on over and show your selves and find out what it means to be American, actually fighting for America.
These colors don't run are more than a slogan.

Terrorists who are not acting for a government, but are civilians attacking civilians, are committing a crime, not an act of war. What is needed to deal with them is police action. International cooperation in police work should be directed toward locating the criminals, taking them into custody and putting them on trial.
The trial should be completely open and public. If there are connections linking the Bush family to the Bin Laden family these should be publicly investigated, not papered over. It is important therefore that Osama Bin Laden be arrested alive, not killed. Let us see all the relevant facts about terrorism.

Logically, it's not a question of will terrorists successfully strike a US city, rivaling the Twin Towers of 9/11; yes, they surely will make a try for it. But the real matters are WHEN AND HOW.
I would find a civil way to show my defiance against scumbag coward terrorist and show THEM I'm NOT afraid and WILL NOT scurry away in fear of them.
And I'd look for the very things that seethe terrorists into anger---and I'd loudly exploit it.....just to show them THEY FAILED.
That's how you strike back at terrorists......and win.

The Arabs kidnap and behead anyone who isn't "Arab" and are in their countries. Of course for the Arab that isn't racism that's just fighting for freedom. Maybe if the terrorists succeed in attacking the US again and again all the Arabs should pay the price which non-Arabs in the Middle East have to pay. Fair's fair.

I think you're wrong. So far it has been free for us at least. I'm not in military. I don't sacrifice my life. Our taxes haven't been raised. What sacrifices do normal citizens make to fight war on terror? Nothing.
Long line at airport? That's nothing compared to troops getting blown up in Iraq. Gas price is high. But people afford it still.
What have normal, typical citizens have sacrificed or have been asked to sacrifice? Nothing.
They put all the burdens on our volunteer troops. Lot of people don't think that's very fair.

I will go into the rats nests and extract information and give it to our military. Getting info is my specialty. If I need to kill any terrorists, that is fine, too. Basically, I would do whatever was needed of me.

Here's the thing: If we leave them alone, they will stop getting attention and their numbers will dwindle. And, they will know if they do anything like 911again, that America wouldn't F around. We would be nuking.
