Well, it's a good start knowing you can't choose both/neither.
I would suggest that you will find better clarity by getting away from it all, and spend a few hours away from the distractions of life.
Consider the mysteries of life and the world around you in quiet reflection.
Then, if you are satisfied in one way, look carefully at the world around you and methodically consider where it stands and where you stand. Keep asking, inquiring, and don't be scared to look around, even in places you might otherwise disregard automatically.
