If I am doing high intensive interval training on the treadmill, what's the longest time I can do it for in one session? Why is it bad to do it for too long? Is it bad to do HIIT and then go on the cross-trainer?

Anybody have any links for more information on HIIT?

I wouldn't go more than 30 mins tops and it's bad to do for long because your body is being depleted of all its energy reserves. You're only supposed to use HIT one or twice a week because the strain it places on your body. You really need time off between sessions to recoup so take it easy and instead maybe do regular training on the treadmill a couple of days and then HIT training one or twice a week at most. Hope this helps!

PS... If you're going light on the cross trainer after the HIT then no it's not really bad but you have to keep it lite.
