I used to tell my parents that I felt sick, but in reality I wanted to watch Thunderbirds.

Good reasons include:
It is boring
You are sick
You're going on vacation
Family/friend is sick
Car trouble (well...I guess you could get a ride...)
Attend someone elses' religious services
And so on...I could probably think of many more, since getting out of church was my Sunday specialty as a child. :)

I have just stuck my head in the sand of sin and forgotten how much I need to read, hear and heed the Word of GOD! I have decided to wait here for my end to come cause I need time to think up excuses to tell GOD when I stand before HIM at the Judgment!

There is never a good excuse for missing Church. To miss church is like missing the train to Heaven in order to get to Heaven you have to hear the word, the word is like your ticket. For the word says I choose the foolishness of preaching that you might be saved! If you don't hear the word you won't be prepared for this evil and wicked world we live n today!

staying home to take care of your deathly ill family member.

car broke down and there's no way to get there.

other than that, i can't think of any real good excuses. worship, godly education, and fellowship with other believers are good for you. it renews your mind. you don't have to feel like worshipping God in order to worship God. just break out in a favorite spiritual song or hymn (especially in troubled times), and before long, you WILL feel like worshipping. it might make you feel kinda goofy, but who cares? it's not like other people have to know about it.

Why would you want an excuse? I find that when I do attend church, I have a much smoother week at work and in my personal life. And it doesn't matter what church I attend, life is always better when I go.

Good christians, should not be making excuses. They should be going.

I'm an atheist, but if a person says they believe in God and church, then they should want to go, right?

I would have thought the idea of going to church would not be questioned. Just go!

it is actually your choice to go to church or not. you don't need an explanation or excuse from anyone. no one can ever dictate your life.

however, there is one authority whom all of us should obey. Go talk to God and present to Him your excuse. but i want you to ponder on this one thing: Christianity was never about your works or my works, your strict code or my strict code. it is about loving God. works based on that love follows.",)

To avoid the hypocrisy, to seek God independently, to avoid being being pressured to say and believe things you simply can't

But you could go to see what you can learn and remain a chameleon on an independent journey.

Quote from the christian bible:

Matthew 6:

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Well, there is no excuse. You don't like to go to church and that's it. Be honest with yourself. Just don't go if you don't like it. God is in your heart, just love him.!
