The key components to losing weight is:
Diet
Excercise

I know you probably hear this alot, but its true.
Pretty much if you want to lose fat you have to eat less then what you normally do. Watch what you eat. Keep away from that fast food. Use fitday.com and record what you normally eat for a week, it shows you a rough estimate of your calorie intake as well as shows how much carbs, alcohol, protein, and fat you eat. After try to eat liek 1500-1600 calories.
Eat like lean meats (Chicken breast is good), whole grain breads (for example wheat>white bread), nuts/seeds (they have good fats), dairy products (yogurt, milk dairy products have a chemical called CLA, conjugated linuec acid that helps speed up your metabolism you can also buy this in a pill farm at trader joes it sliek 12 bucks) .

For excercise, walk/jog for 30 mins a day. In my opinion gettin a work out buddy is good and bad. It is good because it will make it more enjoyable and you both can motivate each other. The bad thing is that if you start being depending on your work out buddy and they start gettin lazy, so will you.
Also, try a lil weight lifting, use like water bottles or something do like arm curls and bench dips (google it, they usually have videos) to tone your arms, squatting is good for toning your legs. you can do all these excercise at home with out buyin anything. also when you are doing these excercises do 15+ repetitions, it give u a tone look with out gettin bulky. (if a slim look is what you are going for).

Try to drink like a small glass of milk an horu before running, it will speed up your metabolism. Also eat a lot of small meals through out the day, avoid big meals beacsue it takes longer to digest. Eating liek 6 meals a day will speed up your metabolism.

Last Note:
Staying in shape is a lifestyle. You always have to do it, in order to be in good shape. It will be hard, but if you are motivated you can do it. Just try and stick it out. Every time you think, "Oh ill just do it tomorrow", think about your goals. and just get up and do it. Getting started on the workout is the hardest part, so after you get past that point you'll be good.

GOOD LUCK, I hope i was helpful

Exercise is the best method of weight loss available. Sorry hon, but there is no way to get something for nothing - if you really want to lose weight, you need to work it off. Just dieting won't help - it sends your body into starvation mode, and your metabolism will return to its previous level as soon as you start eating normally again. Surgeries and liposuction are extreme measures and not suitable for small-scall weight loss like this. No reputable doctor will enroll you in surgery if you haven't even attempted simple measures like exercise. You don't have to enroll yourself in boot camp - just starting getting a little exercise every day. Walk briskly for half an hour. Turn on some music and dance around your living room. Find a friend with an energetic dog, and offer to walk the dog and play with him at the park. Swim laps at the pool. You don't have to spend money, but you do have to spend effort.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
