Sometimes, and sometimes they use staples. Ask the vet when you make the appt - it all depends on what they prefer.

When a female dog is spayed the incision to remove the ovaries and uterus is stitched (or stapled shut) but her vulva is still open just like in a women that has a hysterectomy.

"Spaying" is a major, open-abdomen surgery in which the uterus and ovaries are removed from the animal. It's usually performed under anaesthesia and if the vet didn't stitch her shut, she'd...well, imagine how you'd be if your doctor left you wide open after surgery, with all your parts hanging out. Long answer short, yes, they stitch her shut. They'll also probably put one of those funny plastic cones on her head until the stitches aren't in danger of being licked or chewed out.

Yes. The vet will provide you with an "e-collar" which is that big plastic cone thing that goes around her neck. It wont hurt her. It will just make it so she can't bend down and lick the stitches. She'll be back to normal in less than a week.

Yes, they stitch the incision shut. You have to keep an eye on it for a while and bring her back to the vet if it gets infected.

No... when a ***** is spayed, they remove the entire utereus through an incision on her belly. The incision is then stitched-up.

If you mean do they stitch her vagina shut the answer is no. They simply do a hysterectomy, which means they remove her ovaries and uterus so she can't get pregnant. The rest of her is intact.
