I plan to donate plasma on a regular basis, but i am also very active and want to be able to recover quickly. Does anyone know of foods i can eat or supplements i could take, etc.. to help recover my plasma levels more quickly?
Also, does anyone know the effects of plasma loss on bodybuilding/ working out? Thanks.

I donated regularly (usually twice a week) to supplement my small income. I used the money for play money, while putting my paycheck and babysitting money in the bank for savings. Since I'm not a big spender, I was able to put most of the plasma money in the bank as well. It worked out well. Because of my substantial savings we've been blessed to have me stay home this year while my husband is doing his internship. (He's in seminary persuing is Master's of Divinity and spending this year doing his student pastorate.)

Anyway, plasma restores in the body quickly and healthfully. That's why people are able to donate twice a week, as opposed to the six (?) months for blood. I admittedly donated plasma for the money, as opposed to blood.

I've been eating whole foods, as close to what God made them for a couple of years. That, I'm sure, has definately helped. Unfortunately, though, I was deferred a few times for low protein, once was when I was vegetarian, too. Oops. Last summer, too, I also did yoga and walked a couple of miles most days, too. Best to my knowlege, the donations did not have any negetive effects (affects?) on my physical activities, but I don't think I eve thought about that. I also agree with the water, it hepls with the quality of your plasma is and with the replenshing. (The technitions did comment on how nice it looked, as opposed to those who lived on "food".) It also helped me donate quicker. (Even though I spent the time on the bed reading and listening to my CD palyer/radio, similar to what I would have been doing at home, didn't mean I wanted to be there.)

Anyway, I've lost my train of thought. I hope I've been of some help, at least.
