Every day I pray for ALL people not just our separated Brothers and Sisters in Christ (Protestants), that they will see the Glory of God.

(and to anyone who seems to believe that Catholics of the Latin Rite - Roman Catholics - have any "scriptural" Traditions I offer a challenge. Research for yourself. Go to a Catholic web site and read what the Church has to say - I will guarantee that you WILL find scripture references. Email me if you wish, I will provide them for you.)

I pray for the hate to stop on both sides. I wish that Protestants at least listen with an open heart to what Catholics say, and that Catholics understand how Protestants can think that our religion is wrong.

Catholics don't pray to Mary and the saints and place them higher or as high as God. However, I can see where they get that idea. I forgive Protestants who are raised to believe lies of the Catholic church and never try to find out the truth. The same goes for Catholics who never study the Protestand side.

True story, I once started dating this guy. He was Protestant, I'm Catholic. His family told him he was forbidden to date me because of my religion. It hurt, but we agreed to be friends. I pray that that kind of bigotry ends (and I'm sure that someone has a story that's the opposite of mine, I'm not saying it's one-sided).

I think it's a good thing to learn about other religions. It helps you understand people better. It also helps if we understand where other religions get their ideas.

All hate and bigotry is a misunderstanding and not going out and learning the facts. So, Protestants, I pray that you take the time to listen with an open heart and learn the Catholic side of the arguement, and I pray the same for my Catholic brothers and sisters.

I will pray for you. That you lose the chip on your shoulder.

You point fingers and call names. Not exactly a fine example of Catholicism.

You have to understand that our Protestant cousins are functioning under 500 years of misinformation. YOU would believe your pastor and those who came before you over Joe Anybody on Yahoo Answers, wouldn't you?

Jesus himself said we would be persecuted for our faith. And so we are. If we were not persecuted I'd be worried we actually HAD gone astray.

The only way to help them see is with love and kindness. Not harsh criticisms. I, myself, need to be reminded of this constantly. I get angry too. I need my friends here to remind me that is not the way of God.

Edit: Dear Robert - not all Catholics are Roman Catholics. There are 21 branches of Catholicism under the Holy See. Even more outside the Holy See. Caldean Catholics, Coptic Catholics, Byzantine Catholics, Greek Catholics, Syrian Catholics, yadda yadda yadda. Think before you bark please.

I agree that the slander of Catholicism by some Protestants is pretty bizarre. How old is the feud between Catholics-Protestants anyway?
The constant bashing is petty. I'm thinking some of them are insecure about their beliefs. What else can it be?

I have a message for all Catholicism slanderers.

Stop.

It is disrespectful. I do not agree with their mode of worship and could spell out in detail why many of their traditions are unscriptural. But, I won't do so unless a question arises which shows cause for specific reply. Then, in so doing, I remain respectful, not directing anything toward the asker, but toward the topic.

I may not have it all right, but I do the best I can.

Yes, I will. God is the Only One Who can change their hearts and make them understand that we are their brothers and sisters in Christ. We worship the one living and true God, and we know that there is no other means of salvation except through the atoning death of Jesus Christ.

i will pray for those on here and around the world, protestant or other that is so blindly misguided with regards to their perceptions towards the church of truth, the fullness of truth that is the catholic church. it would be great if we were all catholic but as that won't likely happen is it to much to ask that people turn to catholic sources to understand catholicism as opposed to things like the jack chik(sp?) tracts and other anti catholic sources.

I will pray that they realise that we don't worship Mary only God and we do follow the Bible

We do all the time. They can be so frustrating though because they are not even willing to listen to reason. They just spout their hate and that's it. What in the heck kind of Christian are they? They are Bible this and Bible that but, meanwhile what they act like has got nothing to do with the Bible.
