It took place in India and it had two main characers that would travel on an elephant and would have adventures.

There was a show out in the 60s called Maya that starred Jay North (of Dennis the Menace fame) and Indian actor Sajid Khan. Maya was the elephant that they rode on. I never actually saw this show, but I remember reading about it in 16 magazine.
