I think they do. You over analize things when you know a lot of information. I think you become dull just for the simple fact that you do not know the current trends. I wouldn't trade laughing my butt off almost pissing my pants at the stupidest things like jokes (being rick roll'd even though I didn't know what it meant) for being knowledgable about non-fictional information.

Stephen L...of course you need something else to talk about after all the jokes get old like Paris Hilton going to jail for 23 days...lol

I have read a few books in my time. I'm going to college to become a teacher. I have a 3.0 gpa. What I am saying is those people who spend their days reading up on information and all they talk about is historical information. I think it's so much funnier to be silly and have a playful conversation with someone not having to wonder if you are smarter than the other person or if what you are saying is true.

Some of the sexiest men I know are book smart to the point where it's baffling. The thing is, it's balanced with street smarts or a love of low brow humor or an affinity for show girls. And that's the key - balance. I don't like 'em too one sided.

Book smarts only make you dull to dullards.People who analyze things usually don't jump into something that will get them hurt. They use facts to make decisions instead of their emotions.Even intelligent people like to laugh and have a good time, but they also carry on intelligent conversations about current events that affect our lives etc. Read a book like the little house books, you'd be amazed at the stuff YOU are missing out on.

Well knowledge is separate from intellect. If you just revel in books all day of course you're not going to really build character though socially interacting with other. Books are great! It's better than being naive, yet inexperienced. Who needs to follow in trends anyway they die out. Who needs them when you're strong enough to seek past them. Joke are only momentary; they have their time and place, but knowledge is infinite. You can apply it to pretty much anything in the future.

On the contrary, I've always found that "book smarts" makes one interesting. After all the stupid jokes are told, you still need something to talk about.
