Mary, the mother of Jesus, the woman with whom God 'begot' Jesus, and made Jesus the 'son of God' should also be equal to God. So why don't Christians say, there are four that bear record in Heaven; the father, the mother, the son, and the holy spirit'? Why is the mother of Jesus ignored in the Bible and not given equal place with God and Jesus as a Godess? Why the Trinity? Why not 'Quadrinity'?

The concept of trinity at one time included holy mother at one time relacing the holy spirit. God never begot Son with Mary as his woman. The use of word Son in the Bible is not only for for Jesus but for others also because it is in metaphoric sense. The poor christain have not been able to solve this delimma sometimes thay were keeping mother in the trinity at others they had to replace her with holy spirit. The christain scholars were facing lot of difficulty in proving that one is three and threes are one"now you want them to prove "one is four and the fours are three."

The Christian trinity represents the mind, body and spirit of the divine host. It the holistic concept of the deity.
Unlike other mystical trios the principles differ.
In Kabbalistic philosophy, as in many Eastern philosphies, the three form symbolises the uniting principle in order to create and divide. Hence you have the original creative force which emits the dualities of the active and the passive, therefore promoting the possibility of reproduction.
The Christian Trinity is a different concept which includes the physical manifestation of God which is not mirrored, divided or reproduced.
Father, Son and Holy Ghost is the Mind, the Body and the Spirit. If you add the feminine or passive qualitiy you then have possibility to duplicate, this cannot be so in Christian eyes because there is only one God.
The idea that there could be a feminine, passive or opposing form of the god force is completely pagan to the teachings of the basic Christian philosophy. The virgin figure has become venerated in the Catholic Church in replacement of the original female pagan deities. In the reformation, throughout Europe, these idolities or false images were purged by the Protestants.

You confuse the natural with the spiritual.

Christ was begotten on the day of His resurrection according to Acts - God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee, v33.

An examination of the Scriptures shows Mary to be merely human, a chosen vessel to bear the promised Messiah. Mary said that her spirit rejoiced in God her Saviour, thus confessing that she had sin and so the need of a Saviour. Mary is in no way equal with God.

An examination will also show God revealed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each of these descriptions are shown to have the attributes of the Divine and also inter-relate. Yet Scripture is adamant there is only One God. Jesus Christ clearly taught the co equality of the Father, Himself and the Holy Spirit and the Oneness of God. He also declared His pre-incarnate existence. He was not merely human.

We have revealed, Three in One, to which the apellation Trinity refers.

The Roman Catholics do indeed raise Mary to the Trinity and even above but they do not follow the Scriptures but rather their own doctrines and Tradition which they prefer to the Scriptures. In this, and in many things, they do not follow Jesus Christ, which has led many to say that they are not rightly called Christian.

Christians will surely say only what Christ said?

Tertullian, between the early church fathers, coined the term "Trinity." The be conscious certainly potential "3-ness." Tertullian replaced into an ardent supporter of orthodoxy interior the church, and replaced into between the final defenders of the historic Christian faith. The term "Trinity" isn't discovered interior the Scriptures, however the doctrine is obviously displayed. there are a number of situations the place Jesus stated of Himself that He replaced into God. He utilized the call of God, "i'm," to Himself in numerous passages. right this is a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, fifty 8, and John 13:19. (those examples are interior the unique Greek, no longer the English, as maximum English translations say "i'm He," or "it incredibly is I.") There are numerous others I certainly have not listed. as properly this, Jesus stated that He & the father have been one (John 10:30). This describes a unity, even however there are 2. The Trinity has an underlying visual charm interior the previous testomony as properly. In Genesis, we see throughout creation that God stated, "enable us to make guy in our image." and likewise while guy sinned, God stated, "...guy has grow to be as one human beings, to comprehend good and evil..." Who replaced into He conversing to? the different persons of the Trinity. We additionally see that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters interior the start, and in John a million:a million-3, it needless to say states that Jesus (the be conscious) made each little thing. yet another perspective to pursue is the numerous Scriptures that reveal that God's attributes are latest in Jesus as properly simply by fact the Holy Spirit. as an occasion, the father is eternal (Psalm ninety:2), and so is the Son (John a million:2), and so is the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). yet another shared characteristic is their holiness. in common terms God is unquestionably holy. the father is holy (Revelation 15:4), so is the Son (Acts 3:14), and so is the Spirit (Acts a million:8). An historical diagram of the Trinity could be helpful in getting your hands around the doctrine, and could be discovered on the link interior the source checklist. The Trinitarian doctrine demands lots extra intensity of dialogue than can ensue right here. it incredibly is important comprehend that we in common terms ought to have faith, no longer unavoidably comprehend, the Trinitarian nature of God. it incredibly is a bedrock doctrine of the Christian church. something is heresy.

Mary is not from God in birth sense. God honored her in choosing her to be the mother of Jesus but this does not make her a Goddess. She would be definitely one of the higher or highest saints. One that God has set aside for a great purpose. Mary was full of Grace but not full of God without measure, therefore she can not be equal to God. Jesus was given without measure and was full of God and therefore God in the flesh as so is the Holy Spirit is given without measure. These are the God heads and what the bible says. If you are a follower of God then you have to know the bible is correct and needs no correction or you say the Holy Spirit , Jesus ( the Word) and God are false or liars and need correction.

She does deserve great honor.

The old trinity is father, mother, child; like in the Egyptian trinity - Osiris, Isis, Horus. It seems to make sense scientifically. Some say the holy spirit is the goddess. Or maybe the present trinity is about the suppression of the sacred feminine. Mary is part of my trinity, I recognise her divinity.

Mary has never been a part of the trinity, the trinity is:
God the Father
God the Son (Jesus)
God's Holy Spirit

Mary was a simple God fearing jew who was chosen to be a seregate to Jesus nothing more, she is not divine in any way at all.

(It's a lie from the catholic church but it is nowhere in the bible that Mary is the mother of God)

Mary wasn't divine, she was just an ordinary Jewish girl, who acted as a surrogate mother for Jesus. There is nothing to suggest that she was anything other than a faithful servant of God when she was chosen to bear Jesus.

according to the theory of fertility which was most common in the ancient near east a child was the product of the 'seed' which the man supplied; the woman was no more than the potting compost which the seed grows in. following this way of understanding childbirth mary made no more contribution to jesus' essence than the earth in your garden does to the parsnips, ramsons and broome plants which grow there.

according to most of the early church creeds jesus is present as part of the godhead from the beginning of time (in fact he would need to be, given the inalterable nature of the judaeo-christian god), so mary may be the means of his birth - but is not responsible for it.

think of jesus as a breakfast cereal: mary is only the cardboard box he comes in.

it is amusing that you have found some more idiot protestants to add to your thread. they love knocking catholics and are far too busy to check up what the real catholic belief is.

i'm not saying that the catholic position makes a whole lot of sense. but misunderstanding a position which hardly makes sense to start with takes a special kind of witlessness.

(Not being a Christian I can only guess at religious answer.)

It's simple.....
because it is how the dogma/ritual puts it....

Dogma, and ritual, which are the legacy of (for Christians) at least 1500 years of evolution of the interpretation of the bible. Those who read digest and rehash their faith/dogma, are affected by the issues of their time. Some of these issues may not be relevant today, some may be more so than ever. There are others which may not even been considered worthy of note. The original reasons behind dogma/ritual are not always clear, and in the context of the religious practice futile to attempt to figure out. (it is not futile from an academic viewpoint) What is of more benefit is to find out how the dogma/ritual relates to today, and maybe alter it.

A Trinity is also how many pagan religions saw/see deity. It helps to have some continuity between religious transitions. Maybe early Christians saw that they only had three "slots" for important "personalities".

I know of a Catholic who was able to take to place in a pagan ritual, by translating Wiccan concepts into Catholic ones. God translates fairly easily, Mary can replace "Goddess". Angels can be work as Quarters. Some changes of wording/litergy/responses allowed for what must have been a weird looking ritual, that was suitable for all present, and acheived what it set out to do.
