As with a majority of the health problems I have encountered, I think this may be tied to my weight somehow. I weigh 300 pounds, am 21, and am 6'1" tall.

another thing you could ask your doctor about is adult onset adhd. may not be your problem at all, but i had issues with my legs shaking like that, and adderall seemed to help it some. diabetic neuropathy is another possibility you could have checked out. do you have any tingling or numbness in your feet when this occurs? also the answers you already have of RLS are good to have chedked out too. good luck

This is a good question and one that will help a lot of other people as well.
First, you need to identify when your legs begin to shake. Is it in the morning after a good nights sleep, or is it more frequently in the late afternoon and evening. Perhaps even when you go to bed and will keep you from sleeping?
Once you have the time frame of the shaking identified and the severity of it. Like is it worse later in the day or when you lay down rather than sitting in a chair (with your legs elevated)
Then it's time to see your Family Physician. You may have a condition known as RLS (restless leg syndrome) This is easily treated by your Physician. You will gain much relief through treatment of medication if this is found to be your diagnosis.--------Wishing you the best!!

Oh yes it could definitly be because of your weight and specialy (as i guess) if you are not a sport type or not doing anything to make your body more resistante. However, there are many problems that can cause your legs to shake. And you didn't write details to help us guess here - when they shake, how they shake...after an exertion/ being tired, or when you are in some social situation, or being nervouse...?

If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me i will be glad to help if i can.

That just happens to a lot of people, including myself, it's probably just a habit that formed out of impatience or boredom. If you feel that you should see a doctor about it though, you should. You might have Restless Legs Syndrome.

Are you a heavy caffeine user? Too much caffeine can definitely make you shake. Sometimes you think you are handling caffeine well but it's a stimulant.

I am overweight also, and this happens to me. Who knows? Maybe our bodies are trying to tell us something.

It could be your weight or you just get nervous.
