You have to understand that almost all moral based laws have come from the Christians moral philosophy. This is why homosexuality is against the law in many States and many States have what they call the right to work laws. Which allow business owners to fire a person based on your sexuality and believe me that there are many women out there who have lost their jobs because they wouldn't sleep with their boss which can be a good reason to suspect her sexuality. I lost a contract because I was mentoring a student in Middle School and it was proposed that I might be getting a little too close. Well he is now a Marine and he writes and visits when he can.

What is so hard to explain or try to get someone else to understand that being Gay is not a choice. We hit puberty and we know that we are different and all of that youthful urge to merge takes over. Christians and these useless mind sets cause more young homosexuals to commit suicide because they have no one to talk to and they hear that if they go to certain areas they can meet other gays and suddenly these young people are right in the middle of a sexual nightmare, complete with drugs and STDs. My first encounter was when I was 16 and I met a 44 year old man. I was lucky that he treated me well and there were no suprises.

Can being Gay be fixed, not bloody likely. Being Gay and having aversion therapy only teaches you how to either hide it well or prey on young people who can be scared into silence. A very dear friend who is bi-sexual had one of the lay ministers from his church taking showers with him since he was a child. Does that sound familar? Religion expects too much out of people and they have little to return. A good religious upbringing is great until the one day when these kids/people run into something they know nothing about and then bam! Christians are not doing anyone a favor by deciding what is right and what is wrong. If God feels homosexuality is an abomination then why doesn't he make everyone straight? At least in my religion Goddess loves all her children the way they are and she makes the difference between understanding what is happening as opposed to not having a clue.

I shall cease my rant!

Because it comes in open defiance of what the Biblical Texts teach us in Romans 1-2. But in saying that God teaches us things through the Bible that are there for our good . Not for evil. He didnt create us to wonder into living this type of life if he created us in his image which is a statement made in Scripture. Therefore it is more of a not knowing how to be a christian person to a homosexual person that is often mis understood.

The Christian is confronted with Biblical truth and with their own personal feelings and in grown understandings that often lead to persecution. This often divides and seperates families and loved friends.

Actually its not only Christians that seemingly persecute Homosexuals. Its ordinary people too. Its because they cant reconcile there own lifestyle which is one given by God and through normal procreation to one of a Homosexual lifestyle. Thus the confrontation.

However, in saying this God teaches us to show compassion and love to those who would challenge our own mindsets and life. So as wrong as what we believe their lifestyle is on the other hand its right and proper to treat everyone equally and be good to them. Having myself come across these situations daily i am always challenged to do as Christ would do if he was amongst us. However with that there must be acknowledgment that through conviction and through values and principles that God has given us from the start that there is always hope for change.

Well, a true Christian wouldn't want to do anything to harm a homosexual or do something along those lines... But Christians shouldn't approve of homosexuality because they follow the Bible. And using the bible, 1 Cor. Chapter 5 verses 9 and 10 say

"What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom."

Look at the things surrounding the reference to homosexuality. All those are things that God does not approve of. And He also clearly does not approve of homosexuality.

Christians don't persecute Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people because of Christianity.

There are seven sections of the Bible that can be interpreted as being against Gay people. And Jesus never says anything about it.

Some denominations, however, have made homophobia a significant part of their faith.

I'm a Christian and I do not persecute homosexuals. Please don't judge all Christians by the example of some that are clearly in the wrong...

Because the atheists fight back?

Really if someone didn't bring up homosexuals 100 times a day on this forum I doubt any Christians would even talk about it. Believe it or not we don't go around hating any group and purposely go out of our way to harass or persecute them.

When you ask us how we believe about homosexuals what answer do you expect except the one that we have from the scriptures.

I don't know why people persecute homosexuals. Certainly not Christian; they know better. The scripture teaches;"and sure were some of you". And as always: treat people like you would want to be treated>

How does the church persecute homosexuals? Are you saying the church persecutes homosexuals because they teach you what God says about homosexuality? You may want to take that up with Him.

it incredibly is obvious that homosexuality is set at delivery and we see it in basically approximately all sexual species and at proper to the comparable possibilities. needless to say, God made homosexuals. according to possibility God cares extra approximately love than the strategies of expression featuring it. And right this is a few thing to contemplate for the fundies available: some people are born hermaphrodite meaning they very own the two sexual organs. So my question is, with whom could God advise that those people copulate? so which you notice, in real existence, appropriate and incorrect isn't so decrease and dried.

Christian is a strange religion. Part of it don't make sense and it changes it's mind a lot too.

I'm thinkin the leaders didn't like homosexuals and so they said it was bad and got the people who followed christianity to believe it too. Now once they got that thought started up, its really hard to stop it. I think its stoppin some, but not even close to being stopped all the way.
