I wore a uniform to school for 1st through 12th grade. We were told that it would put the kids on a level playing field, in other words, kids wouldn't be jealous of the rich kids' wardrobes, and would make everyone equal. To be honest, this is baloney because you always know who the rich kids are anyway, regardless of what they're wearing!

As a parent, I like uniforms because they make dressing my 7-yr-old boy easier in the morning (no arguments about what to wear), and it also looks nice seeing all the kids in their uniform - it shows solidarity and provides a sense of 'belonging'.

i think, school uniforms are intended for the identities of the students, from school do they belong and for the respect to the school maybe... school uniforms are used to prevent outsiders from entering the school ground... i guess, it's really part of being a student, it's a strict policy from their respective administration... i hope that helps.... :)
