when we walked into the breakroom together on our way to eat lunch together, he suddenly sounded different. (because it was the first time we were away from our coworkers) It was weird. I always sensed that he liked me, but his voice changed, and I can't really explain it. It was like he had to work harder to make it come out or something and it got slightly lower and louder. At work (with others around) he talked to me (and only me) in a gentle and softer voice.

Yeah he really likes you. He's just nervous because he doesn't want to embarass himself in front of you. He sees you as a perfect goddess and he's trying his best to be perfect in return. Try to flirt back with him and make him feel more at ease. He'll become less nervous as he becomes more comfortable with you.
