I'm not sure about other denominations, but Catholics believe that only God can condemn someone to Hell and we, as Christians, are called to forgive them (as stated all throughout the Gospel) as God himself is a merciful God.

It depends who you ask! The Bible position regarding condemnation of others is that Christians have absolutely no right to condemn others or judge others because we have all done wrong at one time (or several times!). The Bible position regarding forgiveness is that we are to forgive others because God forgave us (Christians) from our sins even though we didn't deserve it.

In real life, unfortunately, many Christians perceive themselves as morally superior to others, including some Christians, and they take it upon themselves to categorize people in terms of who's going to heaven and who isn't. I avoid these people at all costs, even to the point that I have left two churches over this kind of behavior. I refuse to tolerate it and I refuse to be exposed to it.

There are churches who love God and who have people who are down-to-earth and non-judgmental. Sometimes it takes a while to find one, but it's worth it!

As Christ commanded his followers to cease seeing sin in others--every time you hear a "Christian" disobeying Christ by condemning others--you know you are observing a pretend Christian.

Jesus said we are to forgive 70x7, symbolic of infinity. When he told the story of the servant who got his large debt forgiven from his master, then went out and beat up his servant for a small amount, he was pointing out that we've all been forgiven by God and have no room to with hold forgiveness from others. He also told his followers not to judge.
