Oh my, and you haven't rushed it to an emergency vet in case
it has a concussion? Does he act strange, or dizzy? Do his
eyes look at you well focused? And how's his nose? Is it dry?
He's probably traumatized, poor little thing.
If it fell some depth, you should have it checked in case of
a crack of its' skull or a Hematoma.. He'd better be
watched in case of a concussion if nothing else. I wouldn't
give him anything just yet. I remember when my son got a
hard bump on his skull and got a concussion they didn't allow
him to have anything til a doctor saw him. Same when my
husband went into the ER with a concussion also. I'd follow
that same rule with a pet. Get the poor thing to be examined.
If it developed a blood clot from the fall it could die on you.
As small as your Peke is, I think that's too far to fall from
the cab of a semi.
Good luck!

HOw do you know the dog has a headache and not a fractured skull or internal bleeding?

Though aspirin is recommended by some it has a drawback as it thins the blood making clotting a problem if your dog has an internal bleeding injury giving aspirin can be fatal

And tylenol or ibprofen is not recommended for dogs

You may want to consider a vet visit instread if you dog is in pain

Absolutely NO Tylenol or Ibuprophine for dogs!!!!!!

And to those people who are recommending asprin..1) it is illegal to be prescribing ANY kind of medication to someone even if you happen to be a licensed vet or tech
2) even if it wasn't against the law to prescribe or recommend a medication, asprin while considered safe in some situations and for some dogs is NOT for all..there are illnesses and injuries where asprin should not ever be given so unless you have actually done a hands on exam on this dog and know it's health history you should not be recommending it
3) even if it worked for your dog or was prescribed for your dog or giving your dog a particular dosage it does NOT by any means mean that it is correct for someone elses dog.

Far too many people come in to the hospital with very ill dogs because they self medicated and many times it's because someone on "the net" said to give such and such because they give it to their dogs..unfortunately some of the dogs die as a result.

Please people do NOT give ANY medications without checking with YOUR vet first!!!!

NO.

Contact a vet right away. I rescued one when some moron threw it out of a moving vehicle. Even though I took him to the emergency vet right away, hours later he began to have convulsions due to the brain concussion he had received. He had to be euthanized, but at least he was among kind people who cared for him and treated him gently - unlike the creep who killed him by throwing him on his head.

If you give those human medicines to him you could poison him. Get him to a vet.

I cant beleive people are saying it's ok to give your tiny dog asprin. You should take your tiny dog to the vets. She may have a head injury. You should NOT be giving her anything over the counter unless your vet says it's ok. Asprin will thin her blood out and can cause further damage to her head. My goodness what are you thinking!

NO!!!!!!!! Never give a dog these products. The only safe product to possibly give is baby aspirin. But you need to becareful giving this unless he has seen a vet. If he has any internal bleeding from the fall, it will only make it worse. Best of luck to you!

do not give people medicine to your dog unless your vet has ok'ed it and given you proper dosage. if you are that concerned for your dog take it to the vet. unless you have telepathic powers and can see inside your dogs brain you cant be sure its a headache. if you dog is acting funny after the fall you should take it in right away. if your infant fell off a semi and bumped its head would you just pop it a pill???

The only time I ever gave my dog baby aspirin was for arthritis when it was ok'd by my vet. Take him to them vet. He could have some internal injury or brain swelling that coudl kill him.

NO dogs cannot metabolize tylenol especially an 8 oound one, Take him to the vet, if he is in pain then he needs to be seen.
