how do i put purple streaks in my hair?

You may have to go to a salon if you don't have any experience with bleach. As for the purple Special Effects lasts a lot longer then Manic Panic if your wanting the color to be there for a while.

If you want the purple to show a lot, then you'll need to bleach your hair. I reccomend manic panic hair bleach and manic panic purple hair dye. You could also go to a local hair store that sells all sorts of bleach and ask what type of bleach they reccomend and how you should go about bleaching your hair. You will need a bleach liquid and powder that you'kll mix together. You'll need gloves when you bleach and it does stain, but just follow the directions and you should be fine. When you bleach your hair just pin up the hair you're not going to bleach and bleach the streak and wrap it in aluminum foil so it doesn't get on you. After you're done bleaching then dye it.

P.S. -If it ends up looking like s*** then get some black semi-permanent or permanent hair dye and you'll look like you never dyed your hair. You might already know this, but bleach doesn't come out of the hair until you cut it and/or it grows out. Also your hair might feel kinda weird after you bleach it, but the hair dye might have some special-conditioner in it so your hair stays soft.

I have purple streaks some times and this is what i do.I get my hair professionally highlighted(you CAN do it yourself but its only like $30 + tip for top layer),wait a week or two,and but purple dye,a dye brush,and get some tin foil.and take the highlighted part and put dye on with a brush(use gloves too)and fold the hair up in the foil and let it set for however long its says on the bottle.I use Beyond the Zone pro formula Color Jamz in purple passion.You can get it at most beauty stores, I got mine at Sally Beauty but i dont know if they have those where you are.it also helps to get a sealing gloss to make the color lsat longer.http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b25/liongirrl4eva/pics/P6050239.jpg

Ewww..you'll have to pre-lighten some hair (bleach) for the purple to show up. It's way too dangerous if you're inexperienced with bleach...I wouldn't try it, honestly.
