Jesus told us that the Lord's Prayer is an example of how we ought to pray. It is adoration, worship, thanksgiving, repentance , it contains it all.

It is both.

It has elements of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication (ACTS). In other words, a complete prayer.

Both ... and then some.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name ...

Worship and praise.

Thy kingdom come thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread ...

Petition.

and forgive us our tresspasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us ...

Contrition and penitence.

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen ...

A final petition for salvation, and a confirmation of our faith in the Lord's power and mercy.

It is a grounding prayer. It also teaches humility, and forgiveness.
