Lol, that is true wonderboy!

I don't know why...I do! I always wave and say thank you. You hardly see people do that anymore, I am always grateful when someone realizes they don't own the freakin road, and when they notice another person enough to let them in. I wave as I go through, and then I usually roll down my window and give them another wave to make sure they know I appreciate it. Otherwise they will eventually get sick of doing it, I know I feel that way sometimes. "Why bother letting them through? They probably aren't even going to wave" Not that they have to, but it's just a way of showing thanks to someone when they do something nice. They probably don't send thank you notes for gifts either!

I can only guess, that because so few people do it, it is just fading away. Newer drivers never experience the kindness of others, everyone is just out for themselves, so they do the same in return.

I was thinking about something similar the other night. I pulled up to a stop about the same time as another person. I was going to wave them through, but they just ran right through! They didn't even completely stop. I just thought "geez, is it that important that you go first?" It's just an "all for me" attitude.

I try my best to let people in. I don't stop over driveways or entryways to parking lots, etc. and let people in when I can. It's irritating when other drivers are so oblivious, but I guess I still be nice because I wouldn't want those other drivers thinking of me the way I think of them when they are jerks. lol.

Yeah, and some people just don't realize you are doing them a favor I guess. You think they would, seeing as how little it happens, but apperantly not! Or maybe, it is because it never happens, they don't know what you are doing, they don't realize you are being nice to them and they think you are just stupid and why are you waiting back there. lol. But most the time you see them pull out without even looking your way, maybe they are just too busy.

I get that also and it really agitates me that people don't wave "thanks" when I make a POINT OF STOPPING short of a driveway so that my semi rig won't block them in. Or when I flash to let other drivers in they don't blink the trailer lights or yell thanks on the CB (Talking about other alleged "pro's" and obviously not cars). I quite frankly didn't ever get the memo that you're more important... next time maybe you'll have to sit and wait since I technically have the right of way... but that just lowers me to their level and I'm really not o.k. with that. People just need to share the road and realize that they will get there when they get there... if that's not soon enough, leave earlier!

a big part of it is people are so tired now days from working that their not really thinking of any thing but getting home, that and they have so many things on their mind ,that the only thing they can think of is getting off the free ways.and there are a certain amount of rude ones, but not all are, some will still give a wave to thank you,every-ones so caught up in life right now, there's lot of other things on their mind, you,ll find people in small rural areas to be more friendly, they are more laid back and take things a little slower, good luck ,keep on trucking.

It seems that there are a lot of rude drivers out there that think they own the road and are being generous by letting others use it. They don't realize that if everyone drove like a jerk like them, the roads would be miserable.

Thanks for being a courteous driver yourself. You get a wave from me.

Hard to say. They may have their hands full. Or they may not realize you did anything special. You can bet they appreciate it, though, and it has a ripple effect. Others see you being nice, and they do the same.

If you never got props, would you still do it? Of course - because you're a good guy.

People are friendlier in smaller towns and areas. In cities, you are just the "sap"that gave someone a break. Heavier traffic reduces friendliness

Because they are inconsiderate. They expect it from other drivers. They don't appreciate the gesture.

Only when they try to strong arm you. They may feel as if they are just forcing their way past you.
