I thought it was from taking hot showers, so I have tried using colder water, but that doesn't seem to help much.

Hmm
Try switching your shower gel to a shower cream like dove for sensitive skin (it doesn't have much of scent so no need to worry about smelling girly)Aveeno makes some gentle washes too .
Lubriderm makes some good lotions as does aveeno . Use one after you shower. Don't rub your skin hard with your towel pat it dry.
Weird as it may sound you might be allergic to your shampoo if you've got a new one switch back to your old . The suds can go all over you. Try a dove shampoo for your hair type

try using lotion, that usually helps when i get itchy. or you could be allergic to the brand of shower gel you use. if this is a constant thing then it could be a minor medical problem. but if it's just being itchy after showers then try some different soaps, etc. and try keeping some basic lotion on your skin.
I hope i helped in some way. good luck.

What type of soap are you using? You may be using something that is very drying to the skin. I would suggest using a liquid cleanser with lots of moisturizers like Tone, Caress, Dove. If those smell too "girly", then try Zest or Dial, the ones that have moisturizers in them.

You may also want to try those oil mist sprays immediately after you get out of the shower. That will help to hold the moisture in your skin. Or try Eucerin cream. That is what out doctor recommended when our daughter was discovered to have Eczema.

Fully cleanse in warm water and get a good scrub down, to cleanse pores and scrub off dead skin cells. Take a final rinse in cold water. The shock will help cool your itchiness. I do this with my feet (I have psoriasis). Always apply lotion immediately after you shower. Try Moisture Therapy Oatmeal Body Lotion. 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back. Consider switching to shower gels with a loofah or bath pouf opposed to soap, which might be leaving a residue. Body scrubs will do wonders in taking off dead skin cells and allowing your body to produce more natural oils.

Yes, your soap may be too harsh for you. Try using a moisturizing soap or body wash. Also you should put on a thick lotion when you get out of the shower. I use Aveeno calming lotion, it's wonderful. Also try Eucerin lotion. Both help reduce irritation on the skin. Good luck!

Try changing your soap and even your shampoo (since your shampoo runs down your body as you wash it out it) you could be having an allergic reaction or they could just be drying out your skin.
Otherwise I recommend putting lotion ALL OVER right after you dry off and even before bed. Dry skin tends to Itch so moisturizing is key.
Also check the ingredients in your lotion as a rule of thumb try to avoid any that are scented since they have a lot of alcohol in them and can also dry out your skin.

It's usually not the soap or lotion if you're only itching after a shower. You probably have hard water. Try to get your water treated or conditioned.

Might be hard water. Get a water softener.

Try using only ivory bar soap?

See if you still itch if you shower with no soap or shampoo or anything. If you do, might wanna go see the doctor.

Stop being afraid of lotion - it's not gurly it's healthy and if it's the scent that bothers you there are fragrance free lotions available as well as lotions with more masculine scents.
