I was wondering if it is unhealthy to work out every single day. Espicially if you trying to loose a considerible amount of weight. Will it be more effective to workout in a slower routine or work out everyday 5 to 7 days a week.
My workout consists of stretching, sit-ups, push-ups, leg lifts, using a punching bag, small weights, running and walking on the tredmill for an hour or so.
Should I be doing more or less to get the most effective results. What should I be doing to get better results?

you dont mention what a considerable amount of weight is and what your activity level is. a combination of weight training and cardio with a proper diet - high protien, carbs and good fats is the best way to change your body. Weight training is priority to change your body composition ratio. you need to use heavier weights, all women i see do not with lower reps and go to failure. i use a 5day program - 1body part per day 5 exercises -3 sets per exercise to failure- abs every day (with weight) and cardio -do not overdo cardio -it will burn muscle and you will not get the results you want. what you do is INCREASE RESISTANCE instead as you find it gets easier. also try spinning and vary your cardio to continue to shock your body so it does not get used to training 1 way - you lose effectiveness that way. Eating clean-no simples sugars or processed foods - lean protein, good fats and complex carbs in small meals 5-6 per day to keep the glucose levels steady and your metabolism burning constantly. and drink plenty of water (you can use a sugar free flavoring)

oh yeah i have been a competitive bodybuilder, fitness model and trainer for the past 20 yrs. i have a 6 yr old daughter and a 6 pack as well as tons of years of mistakes to give advice from :) feel free to ask me more.

You seem to be on the right track, but working out everyday isn't as good as it seems. Give your body a break and take two days off to rest. Your body is probably still catching up from the previous day's workout and you heading straight to work will just put your body into shock - or worse... your body will get so used to the workouts that they won't even work anymore. Try exercising twenty minutes two or three times a day (spaced out in the morning, afternoon and evening) and rest the next day and go again.

Also, if you lose weight too fast you will be stuck with FLAB. Keep up with the weight training to keep toned :)

I dont see anything wrong with small amounts of cardio everyday (like 20 min) but not your entire routine. Also, work on your lower body one day and then your upper body the next. This allows you to really focus on the area you are working out and allows other areas to rest. I would also suggest leaving one day as a full rest day unless it gets you off track.

do light weight training first and then do cardio for 30-50min -ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat.
dont work on the same muscle group two days in a row.
body needs at least one day a week for rest to repair itself.

do 45-60 mins of cardio a day to REALLY burn fat. its ok to do ab exercises everyday since you cant overwork your abs, but try alternating upper and lower body strength routines to let your muscles recover
