You can teach yourself to play by getting a beginner's guitar manual that has basic music theory, chords, and instructions on holding and treating the guitar. Of course, you won't learn the shortcut techniques to better playing, but you will develop bad habits to forming chords and playing hot riffs that will be difficult to correct down that road.

You won't learn to play proficiently over-night so put that thought from your head. It might take a few months if you're truly motivated as I was at the age of 16. It takes preserverance, patience, and strong will to learn the guitar and play with expertise. It takes many years to reach certain pinnacles of achievement, not days.

I also highly recommend you devote some time to correct English and grammar in school. You need it.

I doubt you'll find free lessons. But you can try www.ultimate-guitar.com. It's a site where people post guitar tabs to songs. Also they show you chords. They also show some types of lessons.
