what size sub do i have and what is the max wattage i can put into it as well as what im now putting out. this way i can decide what to do with my sounds.

Not knowing if yours is Fosgate or Bose. The sub is approx 8 inches and the stock system is capable of over 100 db sound output so go ahead add more sound and when you get old I will see you at the hearing aid store. Fosgate is 250 watts and bose does not publish ther power output. I think it is almost the same. Add a sub box with a 10 inch JL audio speaker and additional 500+ watt amp and you will shake the bolts out of the car.

Just as a reminder - if you have the Bose system---it is pretty much tuned as a total system and replacement of individual components/subsystems will not yield ideal results.
This might account for many owners who want to switch to a totally different system pulling out the whole sound system.
