Would you be surprised to get two STANDARD size pillow shams with a King size bedspread, when it was discribed as a set?!

No, I wouldn't be surprised at all. I have seen this happen.
Does it say king size shams. If not can you buy a single or double pack of shams that are standard and put more on the bed. I have done this.
If I couldn't tell anyother way, I would probably open the package and check before I purchased.

My king size bedspread came with king-size shams. You could take it back or call and ask if there was a mistake.

Yes - twin and full bed sets come with 'standard' size shams; and queen and king sets come with 'king' size shams.
Take or send it back; review all details before purchasing package deals, everyone!

They should of been king size shams unless the manufactured specified regular. I would contact the manufacture.
