"There is a door beyond understanding, beyond belief,
before the daylight,and before the dawn; this is the door to faith. The serenity of believing that which cannot be believed;
knowing that which is unknown, and trusting the universe to show us the way."

Faith is pretty much only defined as a virtue by people who have faith. This is therefore an opinion. The world doesn't need faith for it to keep going, nor do we need faith for other virtues. Love need not exist only through God(s), nor through any other kind of faith.

The best way I can think to answer this would be with a scripture from the Christian bible... Hebrews 11:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The entire chapter goes on to give examples of things that can come by faith and things that cant be done by without faith. To give a more direct answer in modern english, Faith is when you look on your loved one that is sick and the doctores have said there is no hope of recovery and belive, know and see them better because God will do it. Faith goes way beyound just opinion. The bible even decribes it as a gift in 1Cor 12:9.

Faith is a belief in things not seen, but felt, it is strengthened through reading and applying and seeing prayers answered.Faith is neither a virtue or an opinion,it is a gift for those that seek Him.

Faith is something we can hold onto when all else is bleak, it is as tiny as a mustard seed and can grow to epic proportions where it is not something we hold onto but is something that can hold US up!

LOL It is a matter of opinion whether it be an opinion or virtue....

or if it started as an opinion and grew into a virtue....

or if it was a hope fulfilled.

....o all the above? lol, ok, have to analyze this a bit, talk to you all tomorrow! :) God be with you all

Faith is that intangible Virtue that separates man from the animals.
If the faith is removed from man, then the planet would totally be populated by animals.
This is what we see happening in the world today. It is mans lack of faith that is causing all the strife that we see in the world today!

True Biblical faith is based on a supernatural revelation from the True God to the human spirit, and produces an assurance of things hoped for, a settled conviction of unseen realities.
It is foolishness to unspiritual men because they have no capacity for it, like pre-pubescent children trying to understand sex.

Faith is belief without and/or despite evidence, so I'd say faith is self-imposed ignorance, at the very least.

Faith is a virtue.

If you do not mind my asking, what do you think a virtue is?

Hmmm... This is actually a new question rather than all the crap that everyone repeats all the time!

I'm thinking more of an opinion.
