I think it’s more simple to have a relationship with Jesus than what we try to read into the Bible.
Jesus loves us, we love each other. Simple.
Were it gets screwed up is humans read to much into the Bible.
Why don’t we as humans trust Jesus? And do what he asks us.
Is it because we are SO flawed?
I think ALL mans religions makes humans want to hate, it teaches hate. And then they side steps it by saying in “GOD’s name” They say things like “we are the true way to Jesus” What a farce!
WHY?

arewethereyet: Rules are basic to the teaching of Jesus, what I want to get across to some is the Hateful way humans are using Rules to do so many bad, and distructful things. You can find any rule you want to read into the Bible, but Jesus set one rule out from all the rest. Love. Its simple.

The Bible sets rules and standards for living and gives examples of what can happen when you let our nature run amok. There are just enough rules in the Bible to keep us out of trouble. The problem is people do not study what the rules are for and remain blissfully ignorant of the consequences and find out later that they made a lot of regretful mistakes later on in life when if they only followed the rules they would have nothing to regret. The Bible does not teach hatred it reflects human nature and gives us a path of how to love others it does not teach us how to hate it teaches us to dislike the part of our nature that corrupts our potential to do good things and live a right life. It's the ultimate survival manual for life it is a pity not many people including "Christians" hardly ever read it.

Those "rules" help us to reach God, they keep us safe and healthy and happy. Having said that, going too far over into legalism is exactly what you are talking about. Like the Pharisee, people today (and especially on this forum) take the love and grace of God for us out of the rules. And that's just wrong.

I know I've said it a hundred times on here, but I see the biggest message that Jesus brought us from God was "yes, you've sinned, but take My hand and lets walk for awhile anyway".

And how does one find out about Jesus? Osmosis?

You have to read the Bible to be informed about your faith. How else will you find out who He is, and what He said?

Seriously.

UPDATE: What Christian says "GODs name we will kill you?" That's preposterous! The only religion that threatens people with death for not converting is Islam.

As to Hell, Jesus is the one who said that more will go there than heaven. As it is written: "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

We don't get to decide who goes to hell, but we are told to tell the truth. (All of it, not whitewash the parts we think will hurt people's feelings.)

Us humans do trust Jesus. I trust Jesus and i love and respect and fear and worship Jesus as the same as i do for God. Because G&J are the most important and powerful, fearful, excellent, trustworthy, wonderful, caring people in this galaxy, universe, life. and are that ever lived and ever exsisted.
