They say they don't believe in God therefore they would feel nothing. That to me however is just blind ignorance to the truth that's staring them right in the face. Can anyone really be that ignorant? I mean just look around, can this world not be any more made for us to live on? It seems to good to be true for this just to have happened...

Either way I think atheists like to think they have some sort of power over god when they say they don't accept Him. What do you think?

I do believe in G-d and understand you are frustrated, but I don't think your question is fair. You are redefining athiests from those that doesn't believe in G-d into people that believe in G-d, but have rejected or not accepted His sovereignty. When it is all said and done, G-d doesn't need a lawyer. Why would HE? He is unlimited and not intimidated because someone doesn't believe in HIM. If you really want people to be convinced of your belief in G-d and think they should believe as well, don't do anything that would give people reason not to believe, because the place where I agree with you is that some athiests, not all, will use the actions of theists that fall short as bulletpoints in their Powerpoint presentation why G-d doesn't exist. .After G-d reveals Himself to someone, my opinion is that your question is better targeted toward theists not living up to their creeds and doctrines. Why would an athiest that doesn't believe in G-d feel compelled to be submitted to something they don't believe in? Many theists will probably give me the ol' thumbs down for what I am about to say, but oh well.....I'll find a way to go on with my life. I would rather share conjoining spaces with a devout athiest that would never steal anything (either physical, mental, intellectual, emotional, or spiritual property including someone's mind through lies or adultery etc), never murder anybody either physically or through gossip or not stopping others from gossiping, was honest in business, compassionate to living things and took action to aliviate the suffering of the afflicted, and were free from corrupt social behaviors and free from corrupt motives than be surrounded by a million thiests that are hypocritical---- I am not saying all theists are hypocrites, but we all know at least one and also not saying that all athiests are good hearted people because that isn't true either--just making a comparison of hypotheticals.

No. Some of us are fully functional people who don't believe in a god. Sin or no Sin, we are not good people to get into some cloudland, but people who are good because we believe that is what's right. Choose between believing in a god who says "Don't question me or be damned forever", or our own choice in enlightenment. Whether it be knowledge or power, unlike people who do believe in a religion, we keep with "the times" and don't pay attention to books that contain such words as "goodliness" and tell you to "stone" your enemies. 21's century rules make freedom, not power, and not religion.

It's not that I don't believe in God as a method of rebelling against it, or to get around the "sin" issue. I don't believe in God for the same reason I don't believe in Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny....and leprechauns, and vampires, and 2 headed dragons, and etc etc etc.

There is no evidence there is a god. It is only reasonable to assume there isn't one until there is some evidence.

And we are here BECAUSE it is a place that can support life. We evolved here so we fit into it, not the other way around. If you think it is perfect, you are blatantly ignoring a multitude of natural disasters.

That makes no sense at all. How can you have power over something that doesn't exist?

I understand it can be hard to realize that people have different beliefs, but trying to fit their belief into yours doesn't work at all.

Calling them ignorant does nothing to further your belief system, by the way.

Atheists don't rebel against (or have power over) beings that don't exist. Do you rebel against leprechauns and have power over unicorns?

Atheists have lots of beliefs, and we don't feel "nothing". Please educate yourself with FACTS, rather than propaganda.

Do YOU believe in Zeus? If not, then YOU are an atheist, as well.

I believe in the flying spaghetti monster. I mean look at all the evidence, it's the only possible way.

And there are atheists and christians alike who use their beliefs solely to hate on others and to feel self righteous. Bad stupid people on both ends, as well as smart good people. You're just one of the stupid haters.

the intense satisfaction of having power over something I don't believe in almost makes it bearable that just about every Christian keeps asking questions implying the existence of that god without ever giving evidence other then that they experience something that I don't.

As I said before, it is a "control" issue.....it is one of the hardest things there is for man to surrender to ANYONE.

My estranged husband is an alcohlic....when he found the Lord and began to BELIEVE, he went through HELL over surrenderring to Jesus.....He tried for a while....lost the battle.

He now knows heaven and hell but cannot give up the hell even though he yearns for the heaven.

Such is the way of man.

God be with you.

No. I don't believe in God because there's no evidence. End.

It's not about being in power, it's about the truth. If there were evidence to indicate that God exists, I would certainly believe in him.

God isn't some kind of intrinsic truth. That's B.S.
