being awkward; 'i'm such a klutz' BUT will they ever admit to having a poor sense of humour, or to being a bad driver?

Actually, I have known people who have confessed to both of those limits. The reason I do not have a driver's license is that I was not only awful the couple of times I've tried to learn, but I realized I would never be a good driver. Driving takes concentration; paying real attention to the road ahead, the other drivers, and all possible hazards. Takes more attention than I could trust myself to maintain. And I've known people who have driver's licenses but who often rode the bus with me because, they said, they just were not comfortable behind the wheel of a car. This is especially true of people who have had accidents or close calls under conditions they feared would re-occur.

As to having a poor sense of humor, that's often the excuse offered when someone does not get a joke, or when they do, but they do not find it funny because it was offensive. Rather than debate the poor taste of the joke, they will claim not to have much of a sense of humor.

I know people who will readily admit they are a bad driver. those people willingly gave up their drivers license. A lot of people I also know willing admit to a poor sense of humor. believe it or not humor is a gift that not all people have. Listen to a group of people tell the same joke, it will come out different from each person telling the joke Ask a person to admit they are homely. or if they reek of ill smells, there will be a lot of denial.

They're not lying , They just don't know. These other things are no blow to the ego. But humor and driving. Even the poorest driver feels better when they're at the wheel. You are 1000% right no one will admit a poor sense of humor or even recognize the truth.

This is human nature. BTW My handwrinting stinks.

of course...when folks drive with me, i always turn on the "get in, sit down, shut up and hang on" sign.

right after i point out the exits and give instructions on how to use the drop-down oxygen masks and sick bags...
