No matter what the religion you find people who think they have the only answer to any question in life. they haven't healed the sick, or gone surfing without a board and all they have to go on is an old book (pick any old book you want) and what others are telling them. I'm not against religion. I'm against people who think that everybody else is wrong. Why can't people see that there is room for many different views?

my beliefs are the only right answer for me.
although I have never healed the sick, I have prayed for them, and seen God heal them, and I have gone body surfing.
while I might not have the answers for you, I do have the answers for me.

T-Minus-10,

How do you know I haven't healed the sick from God working thru me...it has happened many times. Look at Mark 16 vs 17-18. I am an empty vessel which God uses for his purposes to bring glory to himself, so I am not the healer he is. God inspired the Bible thru the writings of men, which the Bible states. You haven't read it from the nature of your question. God speaks thru his people and he doesn't lie. So the wisdom is from God and his children the messengers. If you don't accept Jesus, what is that to me?...I will move on and will not waste my time with those who won't receive the good news. It is not my responsibilty to convert...God does that thru the power of the Holy Spirit. Everyone else is not wrong and I can learn from others..anybody who does not receive good advice is a fool...and that can be advice on how to handle a difficult situation...and not just conversion. God speaks thru other's around you.....about many things as he is interested in the most minute details of your life. The love he has for me is the most appealing thing about him...even when I make foolish choices. I am His work in progress.

God bless u,

Daniel

Science is putting out new books by the ton every year with various views of the universe, and it still hasn't healed all the sick,or answered the deep questions of life,I.m not against science I'm against worshipping the creation more than the Creator.

This is a question with narrow perspective.
Not only do many religious minded persons think they have the only answer, a lot of project managers and SQA persons whom I have worked with imagine the same fallacy. They weren't particularly religious.
Depends on the person. If the person is a (for want of a better nomenclature, I shall use the phrase) pain in the ***, they think they know everything.

Because religion is not based on a personal relationship with God but is instead based on the personal opinion of man. Thus, people are prideful. If you have a personal relationship with God instead of a belief in a particular religion, you become very humbled by the certain knowledge that only God has the answers and it is up to each individual to answer Him when he calls and to start asking the questions.

Most people are 'set in their ways' and 'believe what they have been taught' by the time they are three years old. This is very 'good' for some things, but is very 'bad' for others. I was taught by 'free thinkers' ... and my grandfather actually taught me to 'think' on 'both sides of every issue' and had me 'debate him' on them when I was only three ... I'm now a 'Catholic' but I took a 'very weird and wonderful' route to get here ... from Methodist to Unitarian to Unity to Vedantism, Vietnamese Buddhism, Episcopalianism to Catholicism ... with some 'time off from all formal religions' and even some 'occult studies' in there, too ... so I 'preach' that I do 'believe in God' and also in Christ ... but I think and blelieve that God is so LOVING and so FORGIVING that he's not going to be 'happy' until we are ALL TOGETHER IN HEAVEN ...yes, even the murderers, rapists, child molesters. They may have to 'do some time' in PurgatoryHell to get their 'heads on straight' but we'll all be in Heaven in the end ... and that will be 'wonderful' because we'll have so much 'fun' debating' our different 'beliefs' from 'the time before' ...

this is the nature of monotheism...they have to have all the TRUTHs and everyone else has to be wrong---or they wouldn't be monotheistic...DUH!!!

There are also the subconscious gratifications that come with SELF RIGHTEOUSness. Though this is mostly needed by those that are NOT connected to the world around them, feel insecure, and are normally of low intelligence.

My advice for them---see a shrink, do a 'cleanisng' to get all the ickies off, then see how ya see.

It's because it's what that person believes. Everyone has doubt, but that's what faith is for. Faith is the idea that you believe something without enough evidence to support it. You should use this in whatever you do. I'm not saying to go into something blindly, I'm saying that we should all look at all sides, and then when we choose a side stick with it!

Because its man made. We as humans are full of mistakes. To think that one group has the ONLY answer is a sure way to recognize that group is screwed up. Stay away from them.

There is room for many different views! but they can't all be right! that's were you weight in the evidence of who's right and
who's wrong. I found Jesus to be right.
